Nearly 10 years after Rob Zombie’s Halloween II, Michael Myers returned to the big screen for yet another sequel. Instead of trying to fit into any of the messy timelines that the Halloween franchise set up over the years, David Gordon Green’s film was a sequel to John Carpenter’s original 1978 Halloween.

The film did relatively well with fans and critics (compared to some of the other Halloween sequels), and it didn’t take long for Blumhouse to announce the sequels: Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends. Not a whole lot is known about the sequels just yet, but of course there are a bunch of fan theories out there. Here are 10 Fan Theories We Have About Halloween Kills & Halloween Ends.

Tommy Doyle And Lindsey Wallace Will Return, Only To Die

While 2018’s Halloween benefited from bringing back Jamie Lee Curtis, Nick Castle, and John Carpenter, Halloween Kills will continue the tradition of bringing back cast and crew members from the first film.

Kyle Richards is reprising the role of Lindsey Wallace, and Anthony Michael Hall has been cast as Tommy Doyle, a role that was previously played by Brian Andrews in the original Halloween and by Paul Rudd in Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. While we know the characters will be in the film, it’s possible they are just coming back only to be slaughtered by Michael.

It Will Mostly Take Place Inside A Hospital

Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween II (1981).

In October, it was confirmed that Halloween Kills would partly take place at the fictional Haddonfield Memorial Hospital. Longtime fans of the franchise will remember that Halloween II, released in 1981, mostly took place inside of the hospital after Laurie is saved by Dr. Loomis.

This was also the film that revealed that Laurie was actually related to Michael Myers. It’s possible that Halloween Kills could try to duplicate some aspects of Rick Rosenthal’s Halloween II by having the film mostly take place inside a hospital. However, that’s rather unlikely since Blumhouse is trying to distance their new trilogy from the previous sequels.

Michael Wins At The End Of Halloween Kills

While the Strode family won at the end of Halloween, Michael will of course be returning for Halloween Kills. The previous films are notorious for seemingly killing Michael, only for him to miraculously survive in a sequel. That seems to be happening again in Halloween Kills, but hopefully, Michael’s escape will be more realistic than previous sequels.

Regardless of how he survives, there is a strong possibility that Michael could end up victorious at the end of Halloween Kills. This would be a much stronger decision than having Laurie “kill” Michael again and having him come back for a second time in Halloween Ends.

Allyson Will Be The Hero of Halloween Ends

Laurie and Allyson Strode in Halloween

If Michael does end up winning in Halloween Kills, then Laurie would likely end up dying at the hands of the Boogey Man. Laurie was supposed to die in the original script for David Gordon Green’s Halloween, so many have speculated that she will be killed off in one of the two sequels. If she dies in Halloween Kills, then Allyson would be the obvious choice to be the protagonist in Halloween Ends.

It’s also possible that Laurie could be killed off in Halloween Ends, leaving the door open for Allyson to star in more movies to go against her grandmother’s nemesis.

Michael Myers Will Speak Or Be Seen

Halloween Michael Myers Unmasked

Michael Myers has been in a total of ten Halloween movies, not including his easter egg appearance in Halloween III: Season of the Witch. Despite Michael being in one of the longest-running horror franchise, the character is rarely seen without his mask and never talks. Both the original Halloween and the remake showed young Michael, but Rob Zombie’s Halloween II is infamous for showing Michael without his mask for a good portion of the film.

Part of what makes the shape so horrifying is the fact that people can’t read his emotions, and he never talks, but the final Halloween movie could finally have him talk or be seen. It probably wouldn’t go over to well with fans, but having Michael kill Laurie (or vice versa) literally face to face could be an intimate and intense moment.

The Myers House Will Be Included

While it seems somewhat unlikely that Myers will speak or be seen, it’s much more safe to assume the Myers House will be featured in one of the sequels. The house was first seen in the opening scene of the original Halloween when Michael goes upstairs and stabs his sister to death before his mask is taken off by his father outside.

With the franchise starting in Michael’s home, it only makes sense to finish it there. It’s possible it could make a return in Halloween Kills, but our money is on having a final showdown in the Myers house in Halloween Ends.

There Will Be More Cameos

The Shape is primarily played by James Jude Courtney in 2018’s Halloween, but fans were thrilled to find out that Nick Castle would be wearing the mask for certain scenes. Fans were of course mainly on board for the new Halloween because Jamie Lee Curtis was returning to the series.

Halloween Kills is bringing back Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace, Charles Cypher as Sheriff Leigh Brackett, and Nancy Stephens as Nurse Chambers. There could certainly be more surprise appearances in Halloween Kills, and Halloween Ends could even include characters from previous Halloween sequels (they just wouldn’t be canon characters).

Sartain Was A Member of the Cult of Thorn

Dr Sartain in Halloween

One of the biggest twists of David Gordon Green’s Halloween was that Dr. Sartain was a bad guy. He was set up to be like a new Dr. Loomis, but it’s revealed that Sartain was obsessed with understanding Michael, which ultimately leads to his death. Dr. Sartain died from Michael stomping his head in, but there is a chance we could find out more of his backstory in Halloween Kills. What if Dr. Sartain was actually a member of the Cult of Thorn?

The Cult of Thorn was a storyline set up in later Halloween sequels that attempted to give Michael a backstory to explain his supernatural powers. Having Dr. Sartain be a member of the cult is an interesting premise, but it’s highly unlikely that Halloween Kills will pick up this storyline since the Cult of Thorn is hated by a lot of fans.

Aaron Survived

One of the new characters in 2018’s Halloween was Aaron Korey, played by Jefferson Hall. Aaron was a podcaster alongside his co-worker Dana Haines (Rhian Rees). Both Aaron and Dana met their end in a gas station rest stop after Michael seemingly kills both of them to reclaim his mask.

Michael strangles Dana and brutally smashes Aaron’s head into the wall and bathroom stall. In the real world, Aaron certainly would have died, but it’s possible he could have survived the attack. After all, characters have survived much worse in horror movie history.

Michael Dies… Again

Halloween 2018 ending

Many people believe that Laurie Strode is going to die in either Halloween Kills or Halloween Ends, but Michael will also probably die… again. Michael has seemingly died in several of the Halloween sequels only for him to come back in another movie.

Halloween Ends will be the final film in the saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode, so it’s incredibly likely Michael will be killed off for good. That being said, there’s no telling when Universal will decide to pick up the Halloween series again and create another sequel or reboot the franchise.
