Legendary scream queen and star of the Halloween franchise Jamie Lee Curtis posted a photo of herself wearing a Michael Myers face mask. Curtis did so to encourage the public to cover up during the coronavirus pandemic that is still affecting large parts of the globe. Curtis has been a regular part of the long-running franchise, starring in the first and second movies, and appearing in two more entries in the 90s and 2000s before reprising her role as Laurie Strode in 2018's Halloween.

That movie was the first of a planned trilogy by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride, with the next in the series, Halloween Kills, scheduled to be released later this year. The 2018 movie was a direct sequel to the 1978 hit, ignoring the many sequels produced in the intervening 40 years. The antagonist of the movie series is Michael Myers, a deranged killer who has terrorized Strode in many of the movies. His trademark is a creepy mask, that in real life is a mask of William Shatner's face from Star Trek, painted white and adjusted slightly.

Now, Curtis is using her most famous role to promote the wearing of face masks during the coronavirus pandemic. Lee Curtis posted a tweet with a photo of her wearing a face mask that features an image of Michael Myers. The caption cautions people on how widespread the virus still is, and encourages everyone to wear a face mask, saying that she and her "nemesis" at least agree on that.

Curtis isn't the only member of the Halloween franchise to encourage people to stay safe during the pandemic. Producer Jason Blum posted a tweet back in April that amended the poster for the original 1978 Halloween to say "Quaranteen, The Night He Stayed Home." With Curtis' tweet, it's good to know that the folks behind the franchise have their fan's best interests in mind.

With fans clamoring to see a trailer for Halloween Kills, Curtis' cheeky tweet is sure to get a lot of attention. Perhaps it's a subtle clue that the trailer will finally be arriving soon. Blum himself has said that a trailer will be arriving soon, so this could be a clever piece of subtle marketing for the upcoming sequel.

Of course, it could also just be a smart tweet from an aging woman who is concerned about the effect the coronavirus pandemic is having on the globe. With the face mask issue diving the general public and causing controversy with movie theater chains, it's good to see someone with such a high profile taking a stand to encourage their fans to stay safe and healthy.
