With the highly-anticipated Ghostbusters 2020 currently in production, the Ghostbusters franchise is more popular than ever, which is probably why Universal Studios has added a Ghostbusters-themed attraction to its 2019 Halloween Horror Nights. Halloween Horror Nights is an annual event featuring horror movie and TV-themed mazes, as well as scare zones, intended to terrify guests at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando.

Some of the most iconic movies have been represented at Halloween Horror Nights, including classic horror movies such as Child's Play and Killer Klowns from Outer Space, An American Werewolf in London, Halloween, Poltergeist and Trick ‘r Treat. However, it's the more recent TV shows and movies that are a big draw for Universal Studios annual Halloween-oriented event, such as The Walking Dead. Stranger Things is also popular at Halloween Horror Nights, with this year getting a new maze featuring locations and monsters from season 3 of the series, which recently premiered on Netflix.

For the first time ever, though, Ghostbusters will have its own maze at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. Guests can follow in the footsteps of the original Ghostbusters through high-quality recreations from the movies, including the iconic firehouse, the New York Public Library and the Temple of Gozer. However, they will also have to avoid ghosts and phantasms in the process, including Slimer, Gozer the Gozerian and the ultimate big bad, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Ghostbusters fans can live out their fantasies during Halloween Horror Nights starting on September 6 in Orlando and September 13 in Hollywood. For tickets, visit www.halloweenhorrornights.com. Ghostbusters at Halloween Horror Nights

Ghostbusters remains forever emblazoned in pop culture history, even after the most recent Ghostbusters movie attempted to reboot the franchise. That film received a lot of criticism for its all-female cast and its disconnection to previous stories in the series. Director Paul Feig continues to defend the movie and the choices it made. However, the upcoming Ghostbusters 2020, set to release in 2020, will follow Ghostbusters II by bringing back a lot of the original cast, as well as a few new additions, including Paul Rudd.

The response to Ghostbusters 2020 already shows that this is the Ghostbusters movie that many fans wanted and has greatly increased demand for the franchise. It also seems that the Halloween Horror Nights attraction will focus on the original movies and its characters. Universal Studios plans on giving fans a fun and slime-ful time in Orlando and Hollywood when Halloween Horror Nights begins in September. Who 'ya gonna' call?
