Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights is officially on for 2021 and will feature BeetlejuiceBeetlejuice is a renowned comedic fantasy movie made by Tim Burton. The 1988 film starts when Barbara (Geena Davis) and Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin) pass away and are trapped as ghosts in their estate. When a new family, the Deetzes, move in, Barbara and Alec attempt to scare them off. After some unsuccessful attempts, they summon Beetlejuice, who gives them more than they bargained for.

Halloween Horror Nights is a Halloween-themed event that takes place in Universal Studios' Orlando location. Once the sun goes down, the park turns into a spook zone. The event is packed with terrifying haunted houses, special spook zones where actors dressed as scary creatures lurk, live performances, and horror-themed food and drinks. This event rivals Six Flags Hallowfest and Busch Gardens' Howl-O-Scream.

Universal Studios announced that Halloween Horror Nights is on for 2021 after shutting down in 2020. The spooktacular event is set to open on September 3 and run through Halloween night. This will mark the 30th anniversary of Halloween Horror Nights, and it is set to be a unique season. There will be a Beetlejuice-themed haunted house. The upcoming attraction trailer states that there has never been a creature "more terrifying" and "horrifying." Beetlejuice then pops up and declares, "It's showtime!" Then, some of the ghoulish and kooky characters expected to appear in the haunted house emerge, like Sandworm, Lost Souls, and Betelgeuse in snake form.

This year's Halloween Horror Nights house seems like it'll be packed with frights as usual. However, Beetlejuice naturally comes with a comedic vibe that will give the house a more funny nature than usual. It seems like the appropriate choice this year. While it's fun to get scared to death, everyone could use a good laugh this year. It appears that this year's Halloween Horror Nights will excel at both. The other three haunted houses have yet to be named.

It's too soon to say whether announcing a full launch is a presumptuous move. The world is still very much functioning at minimal capacity due to the pandemic. Many parks like Disneyland are operating at 25%-35% capacity and may plan to for the rest of the year. Universal Studios doesn't directly address any anticipated CDC protocols for the event. However, it is predicted that most Americans will be vaccinated in the Summer or Early Fall, so that may be perfect timing for Halloween Horror Nights. Regardless, for now, Beetlejuice and the rest of the spooks are set for September.
