The Halloween Ends trailer heavily teases that series villain Michael Myers will finally be unmasked by Laurie Strode - supporting a theory that the movie will involve the Silver Shamrock company from Halloween 3: Season of the Witch. Although Myers has been unmasked in both 2018's Halloween and Halloween Kills (as well as other times in the non-canon Halloween movies), his actual face has remained obscured in these instances. However, the trailer for Halloween Ends shows Laurie taking the mask off Michael Myers as he is lying down, possibly hinting that she can finally kill him without the mask.

At its core, the Halloween series has been about the conflict between Michael Myers and Laurie Strode, with the 2018 trilogy putting their years-long battle at the forefront. 2018's Halloween reveals that Laurie has spent her adult years training, preparing to kill Michael if he were to return to Haddonfield. Although he has already seen and escaped Laurie twice, the trailer for Halloween Ends shows that their saga will finally end, hinting at the inevitable final confrontation between the two. While these two titans of the Halloween series could see the end of their lives in this thrilling finale, some are speculating that an element from a previous Halloween movie could be vital to defeating Michael Myers.

Halloween 3: Season of the Witch is the only Halloween movie that doesn't focus on Michael Myers, with it instead telling the story of the Silver Shamrock company. In the film, the Silver Shamrock company is a California-based Halloween mask manufacturer, that runs an incredibly recognizable ad campaign and sells a popular line of masks to children that most prominently portray a jack-o'-lantern, a skull, and a witch. As it turns out, the Silver Shamrock masks are imbued with shards of an ancient crystal that will sacrifice the children when activated, with the children acting as a sacrifice to an ancient age of witchcraft. Given that Michael Myers will be unmasked in Halloween Ends, the already-established canon status of the Silver Shamrock company lends weight to a popular theory that Michael Myers may actually be cursed with a Silver Shamrock mask. This could both have major implications for Michael Myers as a character and provide an explanation for his murderous actions throughout the saga.

Halloween Ends Theory: Michael Myers' Mask Has The Silver Shamrock Curse

In Halloween Kills, the Silver Shamrock company is confirmed to be canon, as its logo can be seen on the masks of several of Michael Myers' victims. Because of this, it is speculated that Michael Myers mask may be one of the Silver Shamrock masks. Myers' motivations have never been clear throughout the Halloween franchise, but this theory may explain why Myers' acts the way he does. Myers' very first killing in the Halloween series is the murder of his sister, with him wearing a clown mask while the murder takes place. After this, Myers doesn't resume murdering until he gets his iconic mask as an adult, with him continuing his reign of terror whenever he is wearing it. Although the Silver Shamrock masks aren't designed to make the kids murderers, it is possible that the masks Myers wears throughout the series are an early prototype that has caused Myers' rampage for some reason.

Despite the fact that Silver Shamrock hasn't returned since Halloween 3, it being referenced several times in Halloween Kills makes it likely that the reboot trilogy is setting up a Silver Shamrock story. Halloween Kills also shows three of Myers' victims each wearing one of the Silver Shamrock masks, suggesting that he may be trying to revive the company's plan. The idea that Michael Myers' mask has the Silver Shamrock Curse is an interesting one, as it could give the character previously unknown motivation and set up the story for Halloween Ends.

Halloween Ends' Unmasking Michael Myers Supports The Silver Shamrock Theory

Laurie Strode's unmasking of Michael Myers in Halloween Ends strongly supports this theory, as taking off the mask could explain how she is able to defeat him. In Halloween 3, the masks grant the kids supernatural abilities, with bugs appearing when adults try to remove the masks. It is possible that these abilities could explain Myers' seeming invincibility - meaning that Michael Myers could die without the mask. Although Halloween Ends would have to do some serious retconning for this theory to work, the history, powers, and fate of the Silver Shamrock company are left fairly vague in Halloween 3, meaning that Michael Myers' being under the influence of one of their masks is entirely possible. Although Michael Myers has been undefeatable so far, Laurie Strode may finally be able to kill him by removing his mask in Halloween Ends - and the Silver Shamrock curse theory explains why.
