An unmade sequel to Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers would have finally united Jamie Lloyd and Laurie Strode. Halloween 6 is one of the most controversial entries in the Halloween franchise, with many not appreciating the supernatural route taken to explain Michael's motivations for killing his family. Another notable point of contention is when the film kills off Jamie in its first act, which many felt too cruel a fate for the character after everything she went through.

In a recent interview with Bloody Disgusting, writer Daniel Farrands suggests that Halloween 6's original script would not have seen Jamie killed off and that she would have in fact reunited with Laurie in a cliffhanger for Halloween 7. In the interview, Farrands discusses his original ideas for the script of Halloween as well as its unmade sequel. Both films would have covered Tommy being on the run for Kara Strode's murder, the revelation that the entire town of Haddonfield is part of the Cult of Samhain, and Laurie Strode making a grand return.

The scope of these ideas would require the story to be split into two parts, with Halloween 7 ending on a cliffhanger that sees Laurie saving Jamie from being sacrificed. "What we ultimately would realize is that this coven, this secret society, was made up of a lot of the people within the town of Haddonfield," Ferrands confirmed. "The end of the movie was, Jamie Lloyd’s life was about to be taken by this mob and Michael, and all of a sudden out of this crowd appears a dark figure. It turns out to be Laurie, and she’s there to save her daughter. And that was the end of the film...It was supposed to be the reappearance of Laurie Strode."

Michael and Jamie in Halloween 4

The interview indicates that Farrands had bold and ambitious ideas in store for Halloween 6 and its sequels. Unfortunately, Halloween 6's last-minute reshoots and revisions made it clear that these ideas would never fully come to fruition. While it can't be said how well all his ideas would be executed, there would likely be no doubt that reuniting Laurie and Jamie would've been a satisfying moment for Halloween fans. After everything both of them have gone through, seeing them come together to defeat Michael and the Cult of Samhain would've been a truly cathartic conclusion for that particular story.

Unfortunately, Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers did not turn out the way Daniel Farrands hoped it would. Not having Halloween's Jamie Lloyd and Laurie Strode unite is a definite missed opportunity for the franchise. Fortunately, the new Halloween requels have retconned the timeline so that it's possible for Jamie to return. With Laurie preparing for yet another showdown with the Shape in Halloween Ends, having her daughter show up to help take him on would make up for that missed opportunity and bring the franchise full circle, the way Farrands hoped for with his ideas.
