The character Jamie Lloyd appeared in three installments of the Halloween franchise, playing a different age each time. Jamie, mostly portrayed by actress Danielle Harris, has become a fan favorite character. She first appeared in 1988's Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, and then the following year's Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers. Jamie also reappears briefly in the sixth installment—1995's Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers—but is played by a different actress, J.C. Brandy, due to a flash forward in the franchise's timeline.

The character of Jamie Lloyd was created after actress Jamie Lee Curtis decided she didn't want to return as Laurie Strode for Halloween 4. So, Laurie was written out; it's briefly explained that she died in a car accident. Jamie is introduced as Laurie's daughter—which means she's also the niece of infamous Haddonfield serial killer Michael Myers. Of course, all of those relations were retconned upon the release of 2018's Halloween.

Jamie was always an especially interesting Halloween protagonist because she shared a special psychic connection to Michael Myers. The fifth installment of the franchise details this connection especially well. In the movie, after Michael is apparently killed by police officers—though, of course, his death is never certain—Jamie is taken home. Just as Michael did to his sister when he was a child, Jamie stabs her mother—all the while dressed as a clown on Halloween night.

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers

In the three Halloween films that Jamie appears in, her age is often unclear. In Halloween 4, which is set at the end of October in 1988, Jamie's foster sister Rachel (Ellie Cornell) teases her for staying up so late. She says: "You are going for a record here? The Seven-Year-Old Insomniacs' Hall of Fame?" This statement suggests that Jamie is seven years old and was born in 1981. In reality, Harris was 11 years old at the time Halloween 4 was filmed.

Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers

In Halloween 5, set one year after the fourth installment in late October 1989, Jamie and Rachel's friend Tina (Wendy Kaplan), distraught over what Jamie is going through, shouts "Jamie's a nine-year-old girl!" But, because this movie was set only one year after the previous one, Jamie should've been stated as an eight-year-old-girl. In reality, Harris was 12 years old at the time Halloween 5 was filmed.

Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers

In Halloween 6, things are very different. The beginning of the movie reveals that on October 31, 1989, Michael Myers and Jamie were abducted from the Haddonfield police station by a mysterious man. The story then flashes forward six years—to October 30, 1995. Because of this time jump, Harris didn't reprise her role; instead, an older actress—J.C. Brandy—was selected to play Jamie. If the plot is being loyal to the fact that Jamie was nine in Halloween 5, it means that Jamie would be 15 in 1995. Early on, this movie shows Jamie give birth. When she tries to escape a cult community with her baby, she is tracked down and killed by Michael. In reality, the actress Brandy was about 20 years old at the time Halloween 5 was filmed. Danielle Harris ended up returning to the Halloween franchise as a different character, Annie Brackett, in Rob Zombie's installments in 2007 and 2009, respectively.
