Of the many powerful upgrades in Hades, Companions are possibly some of the hardest to get. They tend to require multiples of high-level resources, and send players on somewhat confusing side stories. Completing Dusa's favor, for example, can cost over half a dozen diamonds and hundreds of gemstones. But Hades has some easier side-quests, and one of those is getting Skelly's Companion, Rib.

Hades' Companion items offer useful in-run use effects. Players can earn them by achieving high levels of trust with various characters. Once Zagreus has built his relationship with, say, Skelly, players have the opportunity to complete a favor for that character. After completing a favor, gifting the character one ambrosia will result in them giving their Companion item to Zagreus. In Skelly's case, he gifts Companion Rib. Hades' favors often involve a lot of running around and talking with various characters in sometimes confusing orders. Fortunately, Skelly's is a bit more straightforward.

There are a few involved steps to perform in order to complete Skelly's favor, though. Players should stock up on resources - nectar and Titan's Blood, Hades' weapon upgrading material. Skelly needs to be gifted at least six nectar before he'll prompt Zagreus to perform his favor, like usual. Then, his favor involves upgrading a number of weapon aspects, so plenty of Titan's Blood is needed. This is a great chance to try out new weapon aspects, if players haven't yet unlocked any.

Skelly's favor is actually described in a prophecy on Hades' Fated List of Minor prophecies menu. It isn't visible, though, until players unlock at least 4 non-Zagreus aspects on the various Infernal Arms. At least four Titan Blood is needed to unlock these four aspects. Players can use each different Infernal Arm to defeat Megaera, the boss of Tartarus, to get at least six Titan Blood. Once Zagreus' has enough, head back to Hades' courtyard area and choose four aspects to unlock.

Then the prophecy called "Eternal Rest" should become visible. It reads: "A stationary animated skeleton shall someday be slain by the blade Stygius, in the fully awakened Aspect of the Prince of the Underworld." This means that five more Titan Blood is needed. To get more, players can either head to the final boss of Hades, or use the Pact of Punishment to refresh boss rewards at each new heat level. Then, if Skelly has been gifted enough nectar, he'll eventually ask Zagreus to kill him with Stygius and the fully leveled Aspect of Zagreus.

Skelly comes back yet again, of course. Otherwise, players wouldn't be able to gift him ambrosia, which is the last step needed to earn Skelly's Companion, Rib. Ambrosia is Hades' upper-level gifting resource, which can be earned most directly by defeating Asterius and Theseus, the dual-bosses of Elysium. They're a bit frustrating at first, but once players have the hang of it they're a great way to farm ambrosia. Fortunately, only one ambrosia is necessary to get Companion Rib. Bring it to Skelly, and he'll very gratefully reward Zagreus' with his Companion. Now players will be able to call in Skelly's help while battling through Hades' grueling Underworld, which is well worth the effort.
