Gwyneth Paltrow admitted that her children, Apple and Moses, have never seen her movies. Paltrow's long career in the entertainment industry spans over 30 years and for her efforts, she has won an Academy Award for her titular role in the category of Best Actress for the motion picture Shakespeare in Love. The actress was also honored with a Primetime Emmy Award for her guest-starring role in the FOX television series Glee. She currently stars in Ryan Murphy's The Politician on Netflix as Georgina Hobart with Ben Platt.

Paltrow's career has afforded her the luxury of taking on all types of roles in the film industry, including period pieces in the films Emma and Great Expectations, dramas such as Hush, A Perfect Murder, and Running with Scissors and even superhero movies like The AvengersAvengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War and Iron Man 3 where she played Pepper Potts. Pepper handles the day-to-day business of running Stark Industries while Tony Stark became The Avengers leader. With those credits, lots of people have watched Paltrow onscreen, but her children are not among them.

Paltrow claimed in an interview for Shop TODAY with Jill Martin that neither daughter Apple or son Moses care to watch her big-screen work. The A-list actress finds it funny that her offspring, whom she co-parents with ex-husband Chris Martin, do not take any interest in their mother's acclaimed acting career. She told Martin that her kids are unfazed by the success of their parents in the worlds of music and movies.

"My daughter thinks we’re totally embarrassing. My daughter makes fun of us all the time and she always has. It’s pretty funny. I think my son Moses thinks we’re pretty cool, maybe, but he just turned 15 so maybe he’ll start to get a different opinion soon. My kids have never seen me in a movie. I mean, I think my son has seen the Iron Man things, but I don't think my daughter has ever seen me in a movie. She says she likes me (her hands over her heart). She thinks it's weird if I'm onscreen!"

Gwyneth Paltrow The Goop Lab

Paltrow admitted that she is none too fond of watching herself on screen either. She claimed that The Royal Tenenbaums is the only movie scene she'll watch herself in, due to a sentimental reason. Paltrow recalled the scene when adopted Margot reunited with Richie. Margot had an affair behind her husband's back and was the object of her brother Richie's affection. The movie was sentimental to Paltrow because her father, actor Bruce Paltrow, often visited her on set. He passed away shortly after the movie was made, in October 2002.

It is understandable that children of actors and actresses prefer not to watch their parents portray other characters on-screen. It could be confusing for young offspring who may not understand the role or why their parent is involved in a romantic on-camera relationship. Whatever the reason Apple and Moses do not want to watch their mother's work, it is clear they are still proud of her, and keeping her close to them in her best role ever: their parent.
