Things take a dark turn when Ripley becomes obsessed with the lifestyle of his new friend.

Paltrow plays Dickie's girlfriend Marge who is friendly yet a little untrusting of Ripley. The movie looks beautiful thanks to director Anthony Minghella and the tension keeps you riveted throughout the complex journey.

Hard Eight (83%)

Acclaimed filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson made his debut with this solid drama. The movie stars Phillip Baker Hall as a career gambler who takes a young man (John C. Reilly) under his wing. Paltrow has a great supporting role as a woman who becomes the object of Reilly's desires.

Contagiona star-studded thriller from director Steven Soderbergh, serves as a terrifying reminder of the importance of washing your hands. The movie depicts the global impact of the outbreak of a deadly disease that has no known cure.

Paltrow has a small but significant role as one of the first victims of the disease. The film also stars Kate Winslet, Matt Damon, Jude Law and Marion Cotillard, among many others. It is an eerily quiet and grounded thriller that feels terrifyingly plausible.

Paltrow has a small cameo at the end of the film which might help explain why she didn't know she was in the movie. But she should check it out sometime because it is a wildly entertaining and surprisingly hilarious adventure.

Avengers: Endgame (94%)

Fittingly, since Paltrow was around for the creation of Iron Man and the MCU, she should be there for the death of Iron Man and the closing of the MCU's first big chapter. Following the events of Infinity War, the remaining Avengers set off on a desperate mission to make things right.

Paltrow returns as Pepper, who is now happily married to Tony and together they have a daughter. Paltrow helps to sell the final sacrifice of Tony and finally gets to suit up for some action as the heroes take on Thanos and his army in this epic and satisfying finale.
