Mantis actor Pom Klementieff celebrates wrapping filming on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with a new behind-the-scenes image. Klementieff first joined the MCU as Mantis in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in 2017, and since then, she has reprised the character in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Klementieff will also be returning as Mantis in three upcoming MCU projects: Thor: Love and ThunderThe Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special on Disney+, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, and Sylvester Stallone in their previous MCU roles, and it will introduce Will Poulter as Adam Warlock. James Gunn is also returning for the third Guardians of the Galaxy installment despite Disney briefly removing him from the project due to resurfaced controversial tweets. Gunn shared that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 would be the conclusion to the current iteration of the Guardians and their story in the MCU but would set up the franchise for the future. Filming on Vol. 3 began in November 2021 with the cast also working on the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special at the same time.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was expected to finish filming this month, and now Klementieff confirms that she has wrapped filming in a social media post. The Mantis actor posted a behind-the-scenes photo of a cake made to celebrate her wrapping filming. She tagged Gunn and her fellow Guardians actors in the post. The cake and the post are both topped off with an adorable quote that reads, "We are Groot". Check out Klementieff's cake below:

On top of looking delicious, Klementieff's celebration post perfectly echoes the family sentiments central to both Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The phrase "We are Groot" became emblematic of how a group of outcasts became a family in the first movie, so it is heartwarming to see Klementieff use it to show her love for the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 cast. Many of the commenters shared the same reaction to Klementieff's post, including Gunn and Groot actor Vin Diesel.

Klementieff's celebratory post is especially heartwarming since GotG3 is the final film in its trilogy. Both Gunn and Bautista have shared previously that filming this movie has left the cast and crew of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with bittersweet feelings. It is great to see that even though the Guardians' story is coming closer to its end, Klementieff decided to celebrate everyone's hard work. How long it will be until the rest of the cast wraps filming on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 remains to be seen, but it's clear that production on the threequel is winding down ahead of the movie's release in 2023.
