One unanswered question from The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special could be explained thanks to important information revealed during Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Marvel Studios' most recent Special Presentation brought the Guardians of the Galaxy back together for a festive adventure, featuring Mantis and Drax on a mission to capture Kevin Bacon as a Christmas present for Peter. While there wasn't much mention of wider MCU stories, aside from the revelation that Ego is Mantis' father, the Holiday Special revealed one big step forward for the Guardians that might have more meaning than it seems.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special takes place mostly in Knowhere, the severed head of an ancient Celestial, which has now been revealed to be owned by the Guardians after they bought it from Taneleer Tivan, the Collector. The Holiday Special doesn't go into detail about why the Guardians bought Knowhere, but this could be a step forward in the Guardians' search for Gamora. Despite her death at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, a past version of Gamora is now roaming around in the MCU, with the Guardians hot on her trail, perhaps buying Knowhere in the hopes that she'd make her way there by herself.

Multiverse Of Madness Revealed Important MCU Information

dreams multiverse of madness

As one of the pivotal projects of the MCU's Phase 4, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness revealed many secrets about the multiverse that will certainly become important, including the threat of incursions, the fact that America Chavez is one of a kind, and the idea that dreams are glimpses into alternate realities. This idea motivated the Scarlet Witch to dreamwalk into another universe to be with her kids again, as she knew for certain they were alive in other realities. This information could also be paramount in the Guardians of the Galaxy's search for Gamora, as it could be her dreaming that leads her back to her family.

Gamora Could Find The Guardians All By Herself

The version of Gamora currently in the MCU's present timeline is actually a variant of the original Gamora, who was a founding member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. She traveled into the future from 2014 on Thanos' ship during the third act of Avengers: Endgame, becoming trapped after the Avengers defeated Thanos, but not before revealing herself to her variant's team member and lover, Peter. After disappearing once Thanos had been vanquished, Gamora's fate is unknown in the MCU, but Peter and the Guardians have continued their search ever since, with their acquisition of Knowhere perhaps being another step in this plan.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness revealed that dreams provide insight into alternate realities, meaning that Gamora's dreams could show her snippets of the original MCU Gamora's life. This could reveal her time in Knowhere with the other Guardians, since the team spent some time there during Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War. These dreams could convince Gamora to seek out her own answers, meaning the Guardians making a permanent base in Knowhere could guide Gamora straight to them. Gamora could follow her variant's dreams, so The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special might be the beginning of Peter and Gamora's inevitable reunion.
