The fan guesses were correct, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy will indeed feature Adam Warlock, who developer Eidos-Montréal promises will plan an important role. Guardians of the Galaxy's launch trailer offered the first Adam Warlock tease, with the superhero appearing at the tail end for a few split seconds. "So the shepherd's found fresh flock," he said before the game's pre-order details took over the screen.

Eidos-Montréal's upcoming interactive adventure marks just one way in which the general public is being reacquainted with the man originally known only as Him. Earlier this week, Marvel Studios announced The Maze Runner star Will Poulter as the actor who will assume the role of Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. That a Guardians game and MCU entry will popularize the character makes all the sense in the world, given his connection to the band of misfits in the comics, which dates back to their formation.

Days after the aforementioned launch trailer went live, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy's official Twitter account confirmed that Adam Warlock is set to appear. The announcement itself included Adam's six-second clip from the previous trailer, offering little in the way of concrete details about his place in the narrative. However, in response to questions about the significance of his role, the account divulged, "he's a key character in our game."

Born from experiments conducted by scientists known as the Enclave, Adam Warlock was created with the intent of giving life to the perfect human. His unique biological make-up granted him special abilities, ranging from energy projection to super strength. Adam's connection to the Soul Gem and Thanos makes him all the more fascinating. The same holds true for his early support of the Guardians, which now seems as though it could be reflected in the upcoming game.

A choice-driven adventure, the Guardians of the Galaxy title places players in the boots of Star-Lord, the self-proclaim leader of the crew. Mass Effect-style gameplay sees Star-Lord take control of each team member's behavior in combat, making way for an experience that could prove tactical in many respects. Fortunately, fans don't have to wait too much longer to see it all in action for themselves.
