Chris Pratt reveals the first peek at his Star-Lord look for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as the Marvel movie begins production. The third and potentially final Guardians of the Galaxy movie has taken a bit longer to get moving than fans initially expected, but with writer-director James Gunn back at the helm, it's pressing on. Once again starring the likes of Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is reportedly shaping up to be an emotional conclusion to the arcs Gunn began in the 2014 original.

So far, most plot details are still being kept under wraps, so it's anyone's guess as to where the movie will find the Guardians. Marvel reshuffled its entire 2022-2023 release calendar yesterday, but Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was the only movie to come away unscathed. It remains scheduled for May 2023, and for some time now, it's been known that filming could commence in the final months of this year. Now thanks to Pratt, fans have received a major update that includes a peek at his character's look.

Pratt took to social media via the Team Coco account to announce he'll be appearing on the Parks and Recreation podcast Parks and Recollection. He did so by posting a video from the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 set, and he immediately showed off Star-Lord's "sick-ass mutton chops." Once again, the galaxy's favorite outlaw-turned-hero will be sporting some creative facial hair. Additionally, Pratt's video confirmed filming for the movie begins today. Check it out down below.

The carefully styled sideburns fall in line with some of Star-Lord's previous looks and show he'll be sticking with the familiar for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. He's come a long way in the MCU, having gone from morally gray thief to a superhero with surprising heart. Gunn has confirmed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will contain a major death, and some fans have speculated that it could be Star-Lord's. If that's the case, it looks like he'll go down in style.

With filming now up and running, fans might get some additional behind the scenes peeks in the coming months. Before this news, the latest major update was the confirmation that Adam Warlock will be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and he'll be played by Will Poulter. The extent of his role is still being kept under wraps, much like the rest of the movie. In other words, there's still so much of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 left to uncover. Stay tuned for more looks at what's to come.
