Gamora's new role with the Ravagers in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 answers a huge Avengers: Endgame question. When Thanos killed Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War, it came as a shocking death considering she was expected to be a big part of Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Marvel still made this possible thanks to Avengers: Endgame and having a 2014 version of Gamora be left in the regular MCU timeline. There was even some debate initially that Gamora could have been erased from existence by Tony Stark's snap. Instead, it appears that Gamora linked up the Ravagers after Avengers: Endgame's battle. The space gang participated in the epic fight after being transported to Earth by Doctor Strange, Wong, and the Masters of the Mystic Arts. Gamora leading the Ravagers in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 indicates that she left Earth with them, explaining why she did not leave with the Guardians.

Will Gamora Re-Join The Guardians of the Galaxy Team?

Although Gamora will be leading the Ravagers, a big part of her Guardians of the Galaxy 3 story could be weighing whether she wants to re-join the Guardians of the Galaxy. It will be quite shocking if she does not work with the team again in some capacity, as it is already known the original team will interact together in some capacity. However, the 2014 version of Gamora not having any emotional connection to the Guardians of the Galaxy team or romantic feelings for Star-Lord means there is room for her to continue creating a new life for herself instead of following in the footsteps of another version of her.

That said, Gamora will likely re-join the Guardians of the Galaxy team in the threequel. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is the final movie for the original iteration of the group, so it would be weird if she were left out of the last mission. Gamora is one of the most essential characters in the team, and even though she did not experience any of the missions or bonding that the other members remember, she needs to be with them if Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is going to wrap up their stories satisfyingly.
