Chris Pratt says that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the best Marvel film to date. Pratt stars as Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the GOTG series, the leader of the rag-tag cosmic superteam, which also stars Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, and Sean Gunn as Kraglin, with Vin Diesel voicing Groot, and Bradley Cooper voicing Rocket. Joining director James Gunn's finale to the series is Will Poulter as Adam Warlock, Chukwudi Iwuji as The High Evolutionary, and Maria Bakalova as Cosmo the Spacedog.

Pratt famously broke out of his TV comedy persona in Parks and Recreation with the first Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014, leading to a massive shift in the actor's career. He has since appeared as Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and the recently-released Thor: Love and Thunder. Pratt also took on the lead role of Owen Grady in the Jurassic World franchise and recently appeared as protagonist James Reece in Prime Video's series adaptation of author Jack Carr's The Terminal List.

This isn't the first time Pratt has hyped the film, revealing in a recent interview that he'd seen a rough assembly of GOTG 3 and called it "a true masterpiece." Director James Gunn has frequently called Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 "the end" for this iteration of the guardians, but clarified at Comic-Con that just because it's the end of this saga, it doesn't mean that everyone dies. In terms of getting the trailer out to the world, Gunn has commented that he's working on getting something together for wide release, saying that VFX isn't quite finished for mass consumption yet, but it will be soon.

Pratt has had an immersive journey in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and formed strong bonds with the cast and crew, making his investment in the property a deep one from a creative stance. It also gives him a strong sense of how everything is unfolding from film to film, and his comments ring true of someone immensely proud of the project at hand. Audiences will be able to find out just how accurate Pratt's comments are next year when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 releases in theaters on May 5, 2023.
