Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 receives support from Marvel Cinematic Universe Thor actor Chris Hemsworth, who shared his excitement for the movie with a perfect callback to Avengers: Endgame. The impending release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 promises to bring the trilogy to an emotional close, as director James Gunn moves over to his new role managing the DC Universe, and this iteration of the Guardians team meets its end. Hemsworth showed support for his past team before their final adventure.

Hemsworth shared on Twitter the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer posted by Chris Pratt, and remembered their time together as the "Asgardians of the galaxy."

While Hemsworth's Thor MCU ending might still be a way out, it is heartwarming to see the actor support the Guardians of the Galaxy cast, as some of them — if not most — are poised to possibly bow out of the MCU. The actor sharing his excitement for the movie with a callback to an Avengers: Endgame joke and the time Thor's spent with the Guardians is perfect, and it begs the question if the characters' paths might cross one more time in the MCU.

Can Thor & The Guardians Of The Galaxy Meet Again In The MCU?

Thor, Rocket and Quill, The Asguardians of the Galaxy

Across the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, Thor grew closer to the Guardians of the Galaxy, with the latter movie's ending sending Thor and his dubbed "Asgardians of the Galaxy" together on adventures through the stars. Thor: Love and Thunder had the Guardians missing for most of the movie, after initially being shown on a mission with Thor. The reason for that was the Odinson was in a different headspace than the Guardians, and he was not exactly working well as a member of the team.

Following the events of Thor: Love and Thunder, Thor is at a much better place in life, having solved his trauma with past love Jane Foster and now being the father figure of a powerful young girl. Thor can potentially now meet again with the Guardians of the Galaxy to help out with their impending fight against Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's High Evolutionary. However, Gunn has said Thor was never meant to be in the movie, so he likely won't appear.

Still, there is one way the final film in the trilogy connects to how Thor and the Guardians meet again in the MCU. After Thanos' snap erased all the Guardians but Nebula and Rocket, Thor grew incredibly close to the raccoon in Avengers: Endgame. Thor could meet the remaining members after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in a funeral, if Rocket Raccoon's rumored death happens. Otherwise, the next logical time they might cross paths is in either or both Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars, depending on which of the cosmic heroes survive to that point.
