December has already been a huge month for Marvel, with the studio dropping trailers for both Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming. While the hype surrounding both movies is going strong right now as a result, that doesn’t mean there’s going to be any let-up in the promotional campaigns for these respective Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Guardians will of course be bringing back a collection of characters that fans of the franchise will have already fallen in love with through the series’ first movie release in 2014, but Homecoming features a version of Spider-Man that has yet to get the spotlight to himself (after having played a small role in Captain America: Civil War this year).
Super-fans will now be able to get a closer look at one particular face included in the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer - the villain known as The Vulture (played by Michael Keaton) - along with a variety of different characters from both the onscreen and comic book versions of Guardians of the Galaxy. Hasbro have released images from its new lines of character figures, and we can now bring photos of those to you, ahead of their official release in Spring 2017.
You can check out images of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming Habro figures in the gallery below (courtesy of CBR and Hasbro):

The figures showcased include the villainous Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming (with added Build-A-Figure wings that reach 12 points of articulation), whilst Star-Lord, Drax and Yondu will all be available in figures influenced by their counterparts in the Guardians movies. Marvel’s Angela, Marvel’s Nova, Darkhawk, Vance Astro and a Build-A-Figure version of Marvel’s Titus will also be available, taken straight from the pages of the comic books.
Hasbro and Marvel have been working together for some time now. They extended their deal back in 2013 to guarantee an additional $80 million in royalty payments to Walt Disney Co. and the extension of their licensing pact for an extra two years - meaning the companies will be working together until at least 2020. This is good news for all of those who enjoy the partnership the two share and what is offered as a result to collectors around the globe.
Of course, with Hasbro landed itself in hot water last year after it opted out of including female characters in its various Star Wars: The Force Awakens play sets, including the movie’s lead, Rey (Daisy Ridley). Noticeably absent from this set of images is a Gamora movie figure for Guardians, but we have to remember that this is just a taster of what’s to come. A Gamora figure could be being held back until the official store release - but with Marvel’s track record, there is fair reason to question that.
