Disney may unveil an extended preview for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales when Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opens soon. The highly-anticipated MCU sequel is set to open at the start of May, or the end of April if you're lucky enough to live in the U.K. The movie has already received very positive early reactions, and it's expected to be a big draw, especially over the Bank Holiday opening weekend in the U.K.. With Disney at the helm of Marvel, it's perhaps little surprise to learn that the House of Mouse will be using Guardians' imminent success to draw attention to one of their other most popular franchises; Pirates of the Caribbean.

The fifth Pirates installment, fully titled Dead Men Tell No Tales, is set to arrive in theaters at the end of May; another Bank Holiday in the U.K., and Memorial Day in America. Again, early reactions to the movie are largely positive, and many fans will be eager to see Johnny Depp back as Captain Jack Sparrow. Following on from some impressive teasers and full length trailers, Trailer Track is now reporting that the BBFC have rated a further five minute piece of footage, titled 'Trailer Y.'

Trailer Track is suggesting that the 'Trailer Y' could take the form of movie footage or an extended scene from Dead Men Tell No Tales, that could play in front of select U.K. screenings of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, most likely to be 3D or IMAX screenings. It would seem logical to suggest that the same footage could also play in front of U.S. screenings, as well, but there's no word on that yet. Further, it's not expected that the footage will be released online, so the only way to see it would be to attend a screening of Guardians. Alternatively, you could just wait for Dead Men Tell No Tales to sail into theaters at the end of May.

Captain Jack Sparrow looking shocked in Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides

Dead Men Tell No Tales reunites Depp with Geoffrey Rush and Orlando Bloom, along with Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites, and Kaya Scodelero. The most infamous pirate, Jack Sparrow, finds himself the subject of Ghost Captain Salazar's revenge. Leading a crew of the undead, Salazar is determined to wipe out every pirate on the high seas, especially Jack. In order to survive, Jack must track down the Trident of Poseidon, which mans he must form an alliance with astronomer Carina Smyth, and Henry, whose father, Will Turner, is still serving as Davy Jones in the depth of the ocean.

Meanwhile, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, sees the Guardians trying to keep their family of misfits together as they try to unravel the mystery of Peter Quill's parentage. Both movies are almost guaranteed box office blockbusters for Disney (and Marvel, with Guardians), giving a good kick start to the summer box office.
