Warning: contains spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy #13

The Guardians of the Galaxy's Rocket Raccoon is well known for creating weapons out of basically anything he can get his hands on, ones that can take down even the toughest of enemies. But now that he is getting older, he's also getting lazier - and he full-on admits it. As seen in a preview for the upcoming issue of Guardians of the Galaxy, his latest weapon might not be his greatest, but it certainly gets the job done.

Recently the Galactic Council decided to make the Guardians of the Galaxy the official replacement of the Nova Corps, making the team even more important than the Avengers. This means that Rocket Raccoon will likely be tasked with creating a lot more weapons for himself and his allies. But since he's grown weary and lazy over the years, he's now choosing to make his job easier by packing more of a punch to everything he creates, allowing him to take down big threats with much less effort.

In the preview for Guardians of the Galaxy #13 by Al Ewing, Juan Frigeri, and Federico Blee, Rocket Raccoon is called out by Gamora when his weapon seems to be a bit more powered up than usual. While up against a giant robot whose abilities stem from both science and magic, he easily takes it out with one powerful explosion. Gamora gives him some praise for it but also points out that it was a lot of boom, even for his weapons. His response? He is getting old and just doesn't feel like working as hard anymore. He's simply making his weapons more powerful to make his job easier.

If Rocket continues to make weapons with a bigger boom, that could certainly help them with all of the villains they are sure to be taking on as the defenders of the galaxy. Hopefully, Rocket's skills don't completely slip because his weapon making is one of his best qualities and something the team can always rely on him for.

With Rocket Raccoon being a part of the most important team in the galaxy, retirement is nowhere in sight. So readers can expect to see him finding ways to work smarter while putting in a lot less effort. If this means making weapons a bit more simple, but more powerful, allowing him to not fight as hard, he is going to take it. Read the full issue to see what else Rocket has up his sleeve when Guardians of the Galaxy #13 hits stores and online April 14.
