According to a reputable Rockstar insider, Grand Theft Auto 6 may be the most chaotic project that Rockstar has ever done. With such a bold statement, it's worth prefacing that this is just speculation and hasn't been confirmed. Given the length of time it has taken for the game to release, it's led many to wonder whether and why GTA 6 is being held up.

Grand Theft Auto 6 seems inevitable given the astronomical success of GTA 5, but Rockstar has yet to talk about the next entry in the acclaimed series. With yet another remaster of GTA 5 on the way, some fans are growing a bit impatient. One fan crashed a game show to demand GTA 6 from Rockstar Games on television. Unfortunately, Rockstar didn't address the incident and is choosing to remain focused on GTA Online, the new GTA 5 remaster, and the upcoming GTA trilogy remasters.

Rockstar Mag's Chris Klippel noted in a recent YouTube Q&A that he believes it is the most "chaotic" project that Rockstar has ever taken on. Klippel speaks French, so many English-speaking viewers used the auto-translate feature in his video which made it seem like he had heard this from a source. Klippel noted later that this isn't the case and it's just speculation on his behalf. Given his reputation in the Rockstar community, he does have worthwhile insight, even if it's not from a direct source.

Klippel did note that he believes a Red Dead Redemption remaster is on the way, which is something that was also reported on by Kotaku earlier this year. Should the upcoming GTA trilogy be a success, it seems Red Dead Redemption will also get the remaster treatment. Only time will tell how that pans out as there's no indication as to what the GTA trilogy needs to do in order to be a success. Nonetheless, all of these rumblings of remasters seem to suggest that Rockstar may be buying time until the release of GTA 6.

If the game is undergoing a somewhat tumultuous development, a series of remasters of the developer's most beloved games could help keep fans happy. The developer seems to know that fans want the highly-anticipated game as Rockstar reportedly muted GTA 6 on the comments of its YouTube channel. Reports suggest the game is still years away from release, so it's unclear when Rockstar will actually start talking about the game. It may be more beneficial to just wait until the game is relatively close to releasing, so it doesn't have to disappoint players with a potential delay because it was announced too early.
