Fans of the Grand Theft Auto series are seriously expecting a reveal of Grand Theft Auto 6 soon, and one of them has even created a countdown timer ticking down to the rumored leaked announcement date. Rockstar Games has been constantly providing GTA players with new content through Grand Theft Auto Online since the last entry in the franchise, Grand Theft Auto V, was released, and although some players would have rather had a full single-player DLC expansion for GTAV many others spent countless hours in GTA Online.

Grand Theft Auto V, and GTA Online, have proved to be massive successes for developer Rockstar Games, even when compared to how popular their games were beforehand. After the record-breaking profits of GTA Online, Rockstar clearly wants to duplicate such performance again, and the inclusion of Red Dead Online to their most recent title, Red Dead Redemption 2, is proof of this. While Red Dead Online does not seem to be attracting quite as many players as GTA Online does, most people who play Rockstar-created open world games are just biding their time until Grand Theft Auto 6 is announced.

Now, after rumors of an upcoming GTA 6 trailer and a number of supposed leaks which indicate something from Rockstar games is being announced later this month, one fan has created a Grand Theft Auto 6 countdown timer. Posted recently to a rumor and leak thread on fan site GTAForums by a user named u/dragonbg, the general consensus of the community seems to be that the Grand Theft Auto 6 announcement will happen on the 20th of March, and the trailer will be released on the 25th.

If true, this wouldn't be the first time March 25th has been mentioned in relation to Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks and rumors, as shown in a Twitter post above by @GTAVINR, another fan of the series who specializes in sifting through the various leaks and rumors related to GTA 6The majority of these statements seem to be stemming from a purported Rockstar Games insider, and although the information hasn't been confirmed in any official sense by the company players still seem to be taking the leaked statements seriously.

While Rockstar Games has never been a company to comment on upcoming projects or rumors before they are fully prepared, it's worth noting that the Grand Theft Auto community has been getting excited for new GTA games for over two decades now, and one would hope that after so long players would be able to determine for themselves whether a rumor is legitimate or not. The fact that so many people are getting excited about something Grand Theft Auto-related happening on March 20th (and 25th) could be a sign players don't have much longer to wait for Grand Theft Auto 6 information, or it could all just be the internet confusing itself once again. Either way, now fans have a countdown clock to keep them occupied in the meantime.
