A recent tweet from the official PlayStation Twitter account maintains that Grand Theft Auto 5's upcoming remaster is still releasing this month, despite it officially being delayed. Rockstar has opted to release a completely different game in November with the new GTA trilogy, which will take GTA 5's previous release date.

In October, Rockstar confirmed that the GTA trilogy will release digitally on November 11 on consoles and PC. The collection will give Grand Theft Auto 3Vice City, and San Andreas a new coat of paint and improved controls to make them feel more accessible to a modern audience. The new remasters have been heavily rumored since the start of 2021, but Rockstar only made it official just weeks before its release date. Rumors suggested that the game would've possibly been included with Grand Theft Auto 5's remaster as a thank you to returning players, but due to shifting release dates, that plan may have been thrown out the window.

Still, even though Rockstar's new remaster of GTA 5 was delayed to 2022, PlayStation is still tweeting as if it's around the corner. In a now-deleted tweet, PlayStation announced an offer for players to get free money in GTA Online if they log in at least once a month before the new remaster and noted it's still releasing this year. Ironically, the delay for the game was announced at a PlayStation event. It's likely this was a scheduled tweet or just general confusion from whoever runs the account, but the game is still slated for next year.

The game was expected to release next week on November 11, but will now release on an unspecified date in March 2022. The lack of information about the new Grand Theft Auto 5 remaster has led to fans being a bit annoyed. Rockstar hasn't confirmed pricing details on the new version of the game, but the lack of any compelling new enhancements or additions has made some wary of the game. If it's a free upgrade, perhaps it won't be as big of a deal, but if it's a premium experience, it may lead to some controversy.

The first proper trailer for the game featured some small details like reflections on cars and faster character-switching, but it's hardly enough to blow fans away, especially since it's the second remaster of the game. Players are chomping at the bit for Grand Theft Auto 6, but it seems like it's still multiple years away from releasing. Whether yet another version of Grand Theft Auto 5 can satisfy players remains to be seen.
