A mod has added the ominous monsters from extremely popular indie horror game Poppy Playtime into Grand Theft Auto VAfter the controversial release of GTA 5 Enhanced, Rockstar's action RPG is once again in the spotlight, but not entirely for positive reasons. Although the upgraded version for next-gen consoles doesn't provide any brand new content, players are finding solace in mods mainly provided for the slightly outdated PC version.

Poppy Playtime and GTA V don't actually have much in common besides being highly favored and popular, especially on the internet. Poppy Playtime became viral shockingly quickly after its initial launch, and the recent teasers of Poppy Playtime Chapter 2: Fly in a Web are only boosting the popularity of MOB Games survival horror game. Fans have come to love the terrifying monsters of the franchise, including Huggy Wuggy, Kissy Missy, and Poppy herself. Fly in a Web will introduce a brand new villain given the name Mommy Long Legs, who is pink and spider-like and already has Poppy Playtime players hyping her appearance.

An overlap between the horror title Poppy Playtime and Grand Theft Auto's most recent and successful title can be seen, however, within a GTA V mod used by YouTuber Jamesify. In a recent video uploaded by Jamesify, he utilizes the mod that not only adds beloved monsters Huggy Wuggy and Kissy Missy but also Mommy Long Legs. However, sticking to the offbeat theme of Jamesify's content, the normally threatening Mommy Long Legs becomes a giant piñata in which Jamesify is rewarded various "prizes" upon exploding the "Lucky" Mommy Long Legs. Some of these prizes include various forms of Huggys, including a strange zombie version that GTA V's main character Michael turns into due to the mod.

Jamesify's content is Grand Theft Auto V specific, and he is known to use various quirky mods for his videos. GTA's modding community is arguably one of the aspects keeping it alive, considering the RPG has been out for nearly a decade without many updates to its base game. Mods are also used in the very frequently updated GTA Online and while much of the fan added content is positively accepted such as players utilizing real bicycles to pedal GTA bikes, some users have unfortunately used mods to create unfair advantages in the multiplayer mode. Rockstar purges mods all the time, however, especially the unfair ones.

Even with the age of Grand Theft Auto V and the contentious Enhanced release, GTA remains one of the most popular game franchises. In a time when gaming content creation and virality are potentially vital to the success of games, it's no wonder that titles such as GTA and Poppy Playtime are crossing paths. Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 is rumored to release very soon, so content involving Poppy and her fellow monsters is widespread. For Grand Theft Auto V, though, Enhanced has fans anticipating GTA 6 even more.
