A hidden code made famous by Konami for giving players extra lives has resurfaced in the newly released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition as a secret cheat code that enables Big Head Mode. The long-anticipated GTA trilogy remaster is officially available worldwide, and players can re-experience all three games - Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - revamped on modern platforms with visual enhancements and gameplay improvements. These new overhauls include higher-resolution textures, increased draw distances, rebuilt lighting, reworked gameplay, and other new additions designed to help improve the remastered collection's quality of life.

Similar to GTA's radios stations, cheat codes continue to be an integral part of the series and are considered a fan-favorite feature that have kept the franchise memorable for more than two decades. While the new remasters bring about many upgrades to the classic PS2-era titles for modern audiences, some cheat codes seem to have been cut. In a recent interview, Rockstar confirmed that some cheats were removed from the GTA trilogy remaster due to Unreal Engine limitations. Despite this, the developer hinted at the possibility of new cheats to discover and it looks like players were quick to catch on.

Major GTA fan account GTA Series Videos has uploaded a video regarding the discovery of a new cheat code in the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition that allows all characters in the game to have a big head. According to the video, the cheat code can be activated on all platforms by inputting Konami's famed Contra code, which originally gave players extra lives. Unlike the original code, which gave players an easy way to win the game, this cheat code is used to give all three remastered titles a little bit more humor and doesn't benefit players in any way. Similarly, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories included a cheat that enabled the same mode and could have been taken from the game's source code and implemented in the newly remastered collection as an easily discoverable running gag to pay homage to the fame of the Konami Code.

The Konami Code has long been a staple of video game history. Outside of titles by its namesake developer, the Konami Code has become a popular cultural touchstone all its own. In numerous video games, this cheat code has unlocked modes, cosmetics, and running gags for the enjoyment of players. Some titles like Dead By Deadlight have used the Konami Code as a tribute, making a callback to classic Konami titles that first used the prominent cheat code.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is officially out worldwide, and players can enable numerous cheat codes that extend the GTA trilogy remaster's replayability. While the newly discovered Big Head Mode cheat code is significant, it's possible that even more codes exist, waiting to be discovered by curious players.
