Microsoft's listing of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition on its store has officially revealed the Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas file sizes on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. Information on the long-rumored GTA trilogy remaster remained scant since its original tease in early October, but Rockstar's recent first full trailer and announcement corroborated numerous leaks - including the GTA trilogy remaster's PC system requirements.

Set to release on November 11, the GTA remaster trilogy will include overhauls of all three PS2-era titles revamped with higher-resolution textures, increased draw distances, rebuilt lighting system, better weather effects, and - most importantly - reworked modern controls and gameplay mirrored after the latest entry in the series. Although heading to the PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, each version of the GTA remaster trilogy will have slight differences. The games can run at 4K 60 FPS on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X; and will also support NVIDIA DLSS on PC, boosting frame rates and generating sharp images. Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch will have reduced performance but its touch screen can be used to navigate menus and zoom or pan the camera.

The Microsoft Store recently revealed the size of each game in the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition for the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. Grand Theft Auto 3 is eight GBs, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is 14 GBs, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas sizes to 27 GBs. All together, the GTA trilogy remaster will take up 49 GBs of storage. Compared to their original sizes - which were almost four times smaller on PC and Xbox - this puts each title more in line with modern releases, and its quality of life changes are subsequently expected to grab modern audiences.

To make the GTA remaster trilogy even more accessible to the general public, Rockstar Games announced that the remastered version of GTA: San Andreas will be on Xbox Game Pass the day the collection launches. Additionally, the remastered version of Grand Theft Auto 3 will also be available as a part of Sony’s PlayStation Now for the PlayStation 4 on December 7, allowing both console players to easily access a title from the anticipated collection.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition's release is right around the corner, and even though Rockstar has given a glimpse of all three polished 3D worlds, there is still a sizeable amount of details yet to be revealed. While the file sizes have been revealed and appear substantially bigger, only the final product will show whether the increase in storage is a reflection of the new gameplay and visual changes set to enhance these GTA titles.
