A notable data miner has unearthed more information about the upcoming Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition, revealing the collection's file size on PlayStation 5. Rockstar Games announced the long-anticipated GTA trilogy remaster collection early in October in celebration of Grand Theft Auto 3's 20th anniversary. The remasters release on November 11th and will include overhauls of all three PS2-era titles, Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas revamped with higher-resolution textures, increased draw distances, rebuilt lighting system, better weather effects, and reworked modern controls and gameplay mirroring Grand Theft Auto 5.

Though it will be available on multiple devices, each version of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition will have slight differences. The PC version will feature Nvidia DLSS support, which boosts frame rates and picture clarity, while the PlayStation and Xbox Series X/S versions can run at 4K 60fps. Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch port will be locked to 30fps along with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions, but the Switch touchscreen can be used to navigate menus, and gyro aiming will also be supported. The GTA trilogy remasters have so far been revealed to feature different file sizes for each platform, with the Xbox consoles' GTA trilogy remaster file sizes clocking in at a total of 49 GB of storage space, while the Nintendo Switch version will take up around 20 GB.

Twitter user and notable data miner PlayStation Game Size has revealed the size of each game in the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition for PlayStation 5. Grand Theft Auto 3 is 5.2 GBs, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is 10.7 GBs, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas sizes to 22.6 GBs. Altogether, the GTA trilogy remaster will take up around 39 GBs of storage on PlayStation 5. Compared to their original sizes - which were almost five times smaller on PlayStation 4 - this puts each title more in line with modern releases, and this will hopefully be corroborated by the games' quality of life upgrades. The three classics will also be available as separate applications on the dashboard, so they're predicted to be sold separately sometime in the future. Pre-loads will begin on November 9th and a pre-patch could enlarge the file size for each title.

While the GTA trilogy's Definitive Edition collection isn't large when compared to modern game downloads, it's still hefty when compared with other remasters. This likely speaks to the game's new graphical improvements and its switch to the Unreal Engine. Surprisingly, the GTA remaster trilogy's PC version takes up 45 GB and requires players to have a minimum of 2 or 3 GB of video RAM depending on the GPU. This is substantially higher than Grand Theft Auto 5's PC requirements, since that version only requires 1 GB.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition's release is right around the corner, and even though Rockstar or PlayStation hasn't officially confirmed if the mined information is correct, PlayStation Game Size has a good track record. Still, no leaks should be taken as gospel. Time will tell, and in the meantime, PlayStation players can begin prepping their systems for the GTA trilogy remaster on November 9th, as the long-anticipated remaster collection is set to release on November 11th.
