Controversial streamer Dr Disrespect may be permanently banned from Twitch, but his fans certainly aren't. One enterprising streamer has brought the good Doctor back on Twitch, in spirit at least, by recreating his likeness in a Grand Theft Auto Online stream. In an ostensible tribute to the beleaguered former Twitch personality, GTA RP streamer Burn fashioned his avatar into a perfect likeness of Dr Disrespect, down to the mustache and mullet.

Dr Disrespect made a name for himself on Twitch primarily streaming battle royales like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and the Call of Duty series, and became recognizable among streamers not only for his prodigious skill, but also his ruthless and often crass wit, signature black mullet wig, and his mustache "Slick Daddy," or "The Poisonous Ethiopian Caterpillar." But in June 2020, Dr Disrespect gained a new sort of notoriety when he was permanently banned from Twitch following a series of lesser infractions, reportedly for violating Twitch's terms of service. Exactly what those violations are, to this day, remains a mystery. Dr Disrespect eventually migrated over to YouTube in the wake of his Twitch ban, but his fans from his former platform remain somewhat disgruntled about his forced migration. So while Twitch's position on the Doc is resolute, one fan known only as Burn figured out how to circumvent the ban and get Doc's likeness back on Twitch: by digitizing it.

As reported by Dexerto, Burn, who is active on Grand Theft Auto RP servers, customized his avatar to take on Dr Disrespect's likeness, including the hair, the 'stache, the sunglasses, and the tactical vests that made him instantly recognizable on and off the internet. And, to complete the transformation, Burn roleplayed as Disrespect while speaking in his recognizable register and throwing out some of Doc's best-known lines and catchphrases — all set to a Doc-approved soundtrack.

So obviously this isn't bringing Dr Disrespect back to Twitch in the way his fans are hoping for, but it's a pretty excellent tribute nonetheless. And best of all, the Doc himself has already caught wind of Burn's impersonation and watched his doppelganger in action during a live YouTube broadcast with no small amount of appreciation. While he may have cultivated a more bombastic persona that's gotten him into a fair share of trouble over the course of his career, even before his Twitch ban, Dr Disrespect has always openly appreciated his fans. Burn definitely got a seal of approval for his work from Disrespect, who declared "I like his take on it!" and laughed.

The first anniversary of Dr Disrespect's Twitch ban is closing in, and while only rumors persist as to why it happened in the first place, it's clear that even nearly a year later, his fans are still hoping for a reprieve that'll bring him back home to Twitch. But in the meantime, with a little ingenuity, and some clever roleplay, his presence still lingers in the Twitch community, as long as his fans are still willing to dress up their GTA Online avatars with a mullet.
