Grand Theft Auto Online has received another update offering double rewards in Survival events and introducing a brand new vehicle. The update continues to keep players busy after the recent release of a big new expansion, the Cayo Perico Heist.

The Cayo Perico Heist update added a new location to GTA Online in the form of a private tropical island. Such a considerable chunk of new content unsurprisingly introduced new exploits and glitches, one of which allowed players to gain an unfair advantage during the scope-out mission. Basically, if a player brings a Pegasus vehicle to the area where the Cayo Perico spawns, this vehicle can later be used to get around the island faster instead of scoping out all the necessary locations on foot.

Rockstar continues a steady flow of updates for GTA Online with yet another pack full of special rewards, discounts, and items for players to take advantage of. The key addition included in the latest update is a brand new vehicle, The Maibatsu Manchez Scout, which is already available for purchase at Warstock. On top of that, players can expect double RP and GTA$ rewards in all Survival events. Collecting both treasure chests on Cayo Perico within a single day this week will result in receiving a GTA$100K bonus next week after completing the challenge. As usual, the update also offers a few enticing discounts as well as an obligatory freebie, which is a free Shark Livery for the Pegassi Toreador. It can be claimed just by logging in. Vehicle discounts include 25% off the Sparrow Helicopter and the Kraken Aurora Submarine, 30% off the Invetero Coquette D10, and 40% off the Sea Sparrow, the Nagasaki Buzzard Attack Chopper, and the Pegassi Reaper.

Although the Cayo Perico Heist update is a fairly huge one adding a massive new area to the game, some fans consider the expansion to be somewhat disappointing. The key reason for that is that the island itself does not offer enough content to explore. While vast and sprawling, the Cayo Perico resort feels empty and lifeless. The area is designed to be effectively utilized during the heist only, which makes the exploration a complicated task. Even worse is the fact that the island can only be explored during certain missions, leaving it inaccessible during free roam.

The recent update doesn’t add too much to GTA Online, but the introduction of a new vehicle is definitely a nice little touch. It feels like all the updates after the recent release of the Cayo Perico Heist expansion should be focused on the new area, which is only partially true for the current patch. Perhaps Rockstar is planning on expanding the Cayo Perico experience with future updates, which would be a logical decision considering the sheer size of the island and its many unused areas.
