On top of the usual weekly discounts and bonuses, GTA Online players can earn triple GTA$ and RP in the Motor Wars mode during the entire month of May. The chaotic, always-online game normally throws in weeklong double reward bonuses for a smattering of modes with each mini update, but those looking to go all in on Motor Wars can reap the rewards for a good bit longer this time around.
Motor Wars was added to GTA Online during the 2017 Smuggler's Run update. It can best be described as vehicular elimination mode with a battle royale flourish. Teams are dropped into the arena, where weapons and armed vehicles are sporadically placed. The arena shrinks throughout the skirmish, and players caught outside of the Fight Zone are killed. Like most battle royale modes, there is no respawning during a round.
On its blog, Rockstar Games announces that until June 2, Motor Wars will give players triple GTA$ and RP rewards. For those less interested in Motor Wars, Bunker Sell Missions and Bunker Series Adversary Modes will pay out twice the usual GTA$ and RP. To accommodate these games, Bunkers and their upgrades and modifications are all 50% off, and select weapons and vehicles, such as the Up-n-Atomizer and Bravado Half-Track, are also going on sale 40% off.
There are also a few freebies to snag during May. Any GTA Online player who owns a Bunker (either prior to or bought during the event) is eligible for a black Hawk & Little hoodie. The gear will be delivered after the first week of the event. Players over Rank 100 will also be able to claim a Trees Camo Livery skin for the HVY APC, available in the workshop. The APC is another vehicle on sale, too.
Finally, there are some perks for Prime Gaming users. If the player's Social Club and Prime Gaming accounts are linked, they will receive the Kosatka Submarine’s Sonar Station for free. A hefty bonus of GTA$200k will also be awarded just for signing in during the first week. There are also two exclusive discounts for Prime Gaming accounts - 70% off for the Dewbauchee JB 700W and Brute Armored Boxville RV and 35% off on the Weaponized Dinghy.
There are some other minor additions, such as the top prize at the Lucky Wheel being the Übermacht Revolter this week. As previously mentioned, the majority of the event will last all May long, giving players ample time to experience the huge bonuses and discounts. It's a good incentive to leave behind the many popular fan-made modes for a while and experience what the official modes have to offer. Even if you aren't a fan of Motor Wars or Bunker modes, there's still plenty of goodies worth grabbing.
GTA Online is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
