What seemed to be a lucky day for a Grand Theft Auto Online player quickly turned sour when their freshly-won Lucky Wheel Podium Vehicle from the GTA Diamond Casino was ruined on the first test drive. Introduced to GTA Online during The Diamond Casino & Resort update in 2019, the Diamond Casino features a Lucky Wheel that players can spin for prizes once a day.
The Diamond Casino & Resort update introduced a variety of gambling-related features to the online title when it launched, offering players an opportunity to win big at minigames such as blackjack, roulette, and even slot machines. While the eight-year-old GTA Online continues to remain popular thanks to consistent updates, such as the casino, it's believed that delays could happen to future Red Dead Online and GTA Online updates. This is reportedly due to Rockstar allocating more studio resources to fixing the plethora of issues with its recently-released GTA Trilogy.
Reddit user Additional-Basket371 shared a clip of their lucky moment gone horribly wrong at the Diamond Casino to the GTA 5 subreddit, where it quickly began amassing attention from players. The video begins with the Redditor heading towards the casino parking lot to pick up their Peggasi Zorrusso, which they've just won big from spinning the Lucky Wheel. Seconds after Additional-Basket371 begins their drive in their new roadster, the car explodes in a ball of flame, having been a target of a missile from a griefer flying by on their Oppressor MK II. As the alert message appears informing the Redditor they've been killed, the screen faded to grey, showing their killer fleeing the scene before cutting to the flaming husk of their Lucky Wheel prize.

While fortune often smiles upon those at the Diamond Casino, it seems that Additional-Basket371 is not the only one that has had their luck quickly take a turn for the worse after winning the Podium vehicle, with one GTA Online Lucky Wheel glitch robbing a player of their free car. Many Redditors chimed in to lament Additional-Basket371’s misfortune, some reminding the unfortunate player to utilize the game’s Passive Mode in order to avoid future casino prizes from meeting a fiery death. Luckily, as all Lucky Wheel Podium vehicles come with insurance, the Redditor can simply request a replacement vehicle.
Los Santos’ casino continues to take luck to the extreme, and Additional-Basket371’s explosive experience will no doubt serve as a reminder to future Lucky Wheel winners to check the skies before leaving the premises. However, it seems that the ability to leave the area is also somewhat dependent on luck, with one GTA Online glitch trapping players inside the Diamond Casino, forcing them to party endlessly with NPCs.
