A reckless Grand Theft Auto Online player recently let their car drive itself while they held a gun and casually smoked a cigarette. The online open-world title from Rockstar Games was launched in 2013 alongside the single-player Grand Theft Auto V. Since then GTA Online has received continuous support from Rockstar, while its single-player was left without expansions of any kind.

Despite the game releasing more than seven years ago, GTA Online players continue to discover new tricks within the multiplayer title. One crafty GTA Online player recently discovered an alternate route into El Rubio's compound, the location of the recently-added Cayo Perico Heist mission. Another GTA Online player recently showed off an incredible acrobatic feat, although this particular stunt was performed from behind the wheel of a car. Reddit user TheRealMurda10k used the game's Vigilante vehicle, heavily inspired by Batman's iconic vehicle The Batmobile, to drive up the sides of buildings.

Reddit user MarcusDeLongis recently posted a video apparently showcasing a GTA Online vehicle driving on autopilot. The first-person perspective shows the car weaving in and out of traffic, despite the fact that the player's hands are both occupied by a cigarette and a gun. In reality, this odd-looking effect is achieved by driving in first-person while holding a weapon and using an emote which makes the player character smoke. This lets MarcusDeLongis retain control of the vehicle while the player character's hands are both off the wheel.

While GTA Online fans are constantly finding humorous and intriguing new ways to play, the game's developer also continues to add new content for players to experience. Rockstar Games recently added eight new Stunt Races to GTA Online, allowing players to operate insanely fast vehicles through unique new tracks. These Stunt Races are each designed for a unique class of vehicles, ranging from motorcycles to sports cars, and they feature heart-pounding obstacles such as flaming wheels and massive ramps. Rockstar also recently added a valuable panther statue to GTA Online's Cayo Perico heist, giving players the opportunity to make additional cash by nabbing the feline heirloom.

Thanks to both a loyal player base and a dedicated developer, Grand Theft Auto Online has maintained its popularity for years after release. The series has always attracted players who love to manipulate and exploit whatever tools are at their disposal, whether they be explosive weapons or lightning-fast vehicles. MarcusDeLongis' autopilot quirk is far from game-breaking but rather serves to demonstrate how much GTA players love to experiment.
