A Grand Theft Auto Online player recently won big at the Diamond Casino, only to have their free car stripped from them due to a glitch. The Diamond Casino & Resort was introduced to GTA Online in 2019, one of many updates Rockstar has added since launch.

The introduction of GTA Online's Diamond Casino brought a plethora of new features, including a number of casino-themed minigames, such as Slot Machines, Blackjack, Roulette, and a Lucky Wheel. Despite the game being eight years old, Rockstar continues to update GTA Online with new content, missions, and heists. GTA Online's casino has itself expanded several times, providing players the option to attempt heists at the business and even adding a new Nightclub under the Diamond Casino during the Cayo Perico update in December 2020.

Reddit user Bitchemon shared a clip showing how quickly their fortunes changed for the worse due to a glitch at GTA Online's Diamond Casino. The video began with the Redditor spinning the Casino’s Lucky Wheel, which offers a selection of prizes ranging from money, clothing, RP, chips, or even a free vehicle. The win rate for the free vehicle sits at 5%, and it had seemed fortune had smiled upon the player when the wheel landed on the vehicle prize, which meant they had won a Nebula Turbo, GTA Online's free car of the week. As Bitchemon’s character celebrated, joyously clapping at their win, the game itself had another plan, immediately displaying an error message. The alert stated that the Redditor had lost connection to their session, followed by another stating that their game files could not be downloaded.

This isn’t the first time that the gambling hub has had other plans for its players, as recently another GTA Online Diamond Casino glitch caused players to be trapped by NPCs, making it impossible for them to leave the area. Redditors chimed in to note that these glitches have been around since the Diamond Casino was introduced, often striking to crash a player’s game when they won a free car or a valuable mystery prize at the Lucky Wheel. Some players have also noted that Rockstar has, in some cases, been known to compensate a player with the monetary value of the prize they lost due to a GTA Online glitch.

It seems GTA Online’s casino truly takes luck to the extreme in the case of Bitchemon’s unfortunate glitch. Considering that the bug has been reported to have existed since 2019, it seems it may not be very high on the studio’s priorities to fix. While the Redditor may have missed out on a free GTA Online car, luckily, new GTA 3 content arrives in GTA Online for free later this month in celebration of its 20th anniversary, and will also add commemorative clothing and liveries.
