With a customized Vulcar Fagola in tow as a makeshift Ecto-1, one Grand Theft Auto Online player found a way to bring the Ghostbusters to the open-world sandbox. Users regularly find creative ways in which to implement pop culture references into Grand Theft Auto's multiplayer suite. In October, for instance, modders added Squid Game challenges to GTA Online, with "Red Light, Green Light" constituting the most popular of such recreated challenges.

GTA Online has remained the go-to sandbox experience for many a player for the last several years. While this is, of course, thanks to the brand's patented chaotic gameplay, Rockstar Games' continued post-launch support keeps users coming back for more, as well. The most recent update of major consequence went live in July as Los Santos Tuners, a content patch centered around customized rides, car meets, test tracks, and high-speed races. Los Santos Tuners additionally introduced eight mini-heists, Contract missions with generous payouts that players participate in by conversing with KDJ and Sessanta. Some of the update's customization options are still being put to good use, too, it seems.

Over the weekend, Reddit user CringeBwah shared footage of a Ghostbusters-inspired video they created in Grand Theft Auto Online. And, yes, there's an Ecto-1-like vehicle involved. According to a subsequent post from CringeBwah in the Reddit thread, the car in question came to life thanks to the Vulcar Fagola that players can find in Southern San Andreas for $335,000. Its customized stark white color and carefully placed red accents really capture the essence of the iconic car. A gray jumpsuit fills out the look, along with the player character's parachute bag/Proton Pack and laser guns, the latter of which were added in GTA Online's Arena War update in early 2019. Of course, you can't have a Ghostbusters homage without the theme music. It plays over the video below wherein lots of violence and destruction are on display.

Barring the absence of ghosts and supernatural threats, the above video does a good job of bringing the world of Ghostbusters to Grand Theft Auto Online. These types of fan-made creations continue to impress, showcasing that even relatively limited customization tools can make for quite the interesting experience.

Rockstar's plans for what comes next in GTA Online remain under wraps as of writing. However, leaked details suggest an upcoming update will feature a Dr. Dre collaboration that sees the legendary producer and rapper reprise his in-game role to open a Los Santos-based production company. Such information has yet to receive confirmation from verified sources, minus Snoop Dogg's recent claim that Dre has spent time working on new music for the brand.
