Rockstar Games is constantly introducing new expandable content to Grand Theft Auto Online in order to keep the gameplay fresh and exciting, and a mall-themed expansion is the perfect DLC to add next. Incorporating a mall into GTA 5’s multiplayer provides the perfect opportunity for new missions and purchasable content.

There have been plenty of impressive expansions introduced to GTA Online over the years. Just this year, the Open Wheel Races DLC brought Formula 1 style racing to the multiplayer, including seven new tracks and two vehicles. The year before brought the Diamond Casino & Resort update, which introduced new items like a penthouse in addition to various gambling activities as well actual casino missions.

Perhaps one of the biggest years for GTA Online was 2018, with the After Hours expansion. This brought with it a new nightclub, but more importantly, it introduced a new way for players to earn money in the multiplayer, thereby greatly changing the gameplay experience. GTA Online needs another major expansion like this to shake things up, and, as noted by many players on Reddit, a mall-themed DLC is the perfect way to do it.

What A Mall-Themed DLC Could Bring To GTA’s Multiplayer

With a mall comes a lot of stores, which provides various possibilities for changes to GTA's gameplay. For one, there could be new, themed stores with specific items only available in that shop, similar to what the Diamond Casino & Resort update brought to the table. Just imagine a comic book store or a party shop with themed costumes available for players to buy. The mall could have a hair salon that would introduce new hairstyles to the game, or Rockstar could even introduce a massive salon complete with options for manicures, sprays tans, and other glam-up options, so players would have more choices than ever to customize their character.

Moreover, a mall DLC for Grand Theft Auto Online could incorporate new missions that involve the stores. Players could be tasked with robbing each store individually, or they could complete one big heist where they target one or two big stores, like a jewelry or electronics shop, for a major payday. Perhaps even more promising, however, is that the stores could be used as fronts for a money-laundering scheme, allowing players an easy way to cash in.

Given that GTA Online has already seen several new DLCs this year alone, a mall expansion may not be in the cards in the near future. But given all the opportunities it could bring, plus word from Rockstar that Grand Theft Auto Online's biggest update ever is coming, it’s not far-fetched to think that Rockstar may actually introduce a mall DLC to GTA Online.
