Grand Theft Auto 6 will return to the fictional location of Vice City and have a Red Dead Redemption 2-style weather system, according to a leaker who has previously made accurate claims about the series. Rockstar has not yet officially confirmed the existence of the sequel but will almost certainly be working on a followup to the hugely successful Grand Theft Auto V. Some rumors even suggest that the sequel might have been in development since 2018.

Although there is a lack of information about the title, it hasn't stopped numerous leaks about the highly anticipated game from surfacing online. However, it's unlikely that Rockstar will reveal any concrete information about the project in the near future. Grand Theft Auto Online continues to grow in popularity and the studio has recently confirmed that they are working on a next-gen port of Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

A Reddit user by the name of markothemexicam has revealed a number of alleged features about Grand Theft Auto 6. In a now-deleted post from three months ago, which has been screenshotted below, the leaker discusses information about GTA Online and the sequel. Some note the accuracy of some of their previous claims, especially in regards to exclusive content for GTA Online that has since been confirmed. According to the leaks, the upcoming game will see the series return to a familiar location in the form of Vice City. The sequel will also supposedly include a weather system similar to that of Red Dead Redemption 2 and be set during an "unspecified" time period.

Reddit post by a Grand Theft Auto leaker, giving detail about GTA Online and GTA 6.

The last time that Vice City appeared in the series was in the 2002 title Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Since then, titles have taken place in a variety of different locations. As the name suggests, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas takes place in the fictional state of San Andreas, which was loosely based on California. The most recent entry in the franchise, Grand Theft Auto V also took place in the same place while Grand Theft Auto IV returned to a New York-inspired Liberty City.

If these leaks are true, it would definitely be something for fans to get excited about. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is widely considered to be one of the best entries in the series and a large part of that was down to the distinctive and interesting setting. Having Grand Theft Auto 6 return to Vice City for the first time since 2002 would also be a welcome change of pace, with the area offering something that Liberty City and San Andreas lack. Of course, just as with any other leak about the game, this information should be taken with a pinch of salt as it is impossible to verify how accurate it is at this stage.
