A well-known YouTuber claims that Grand Theft Auto 6's setting has been teased within Red Dead Redemption 2. The open-world Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption franchises are both developed by Rockstar Games, an iconic game studio which was established in 1998. With recent releases such as 2013's Grand Theft Auto V and 2018's Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar has managed to maintain a reputation for crafting beautiful stories to experience and vast open worlds to explore.

With GTA V releasing in 2013 and RDR2 nearing its three-year anniversary of release, fans are beginning to clamor for news about Rockstar Games' next project. Apparent leaks from a Grand Theft Auto 6 insider recently revealed a ton of potential information about the next installment in the open-world crime franchise. The leaks suggest that GTA 6 will be set in Vice City, the titular setting of the 2002 game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Based on Miami, Florida, the fictional metropolis consists of two major islands and features real-world groups such as biker gangs and drug lords. The GTA 6 leaks also suggest that the game will boast an ever-expanding map which is continuously updated through downloadable content and updates. However, leaker Tom Henderson also claims that GTA 6 may not release until 2025, so series fans who are excited to experience the next GTA installment should maintain realistic expectations.

Rockstar Games-focused YouTube channel Strange Man claims that Grand Theft Auto 6 is teased by a note found within Red Dead Redemption 2. The video, reported by Game Rant, focuses on a note found on a skeleton near RDR2's region of Gaptooth Ridge. Within the letter, a missionary asks his brother to remain in California rather than traveling east. According to Strange Man, this letter represents Rockstar Games leaving behind GTA V's California-inspired setting of Los Santos and moving towards the Miami-inspired setting of Vice City. In the past, Rockstar Games has teased future titles within earlier games, such as teasing GTA V in the first Red Dead Redemption.

The world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is absolutely massive and brimming with small details, so it is believable that a GTA 6 tease might have gone unnoticed since the game's release in 2018. RDR2 contains many hidden quests and secret missions, with many players only scratching the game's surface during their initial way through the epic Wild West story. The Saint Denis vampire, the elusive serial killer, and an alien UFO are among some of the oddities hidden just off the main roads of New Hanover, Lemoyne and beyond.

Rockstar Games fans have long craved a new single-player GTA experience, particularly due to the lack of single-player expansions for GTA V. While the missionary's letter in RDR2 is certainly not a smoking gun, it is possible that the letter is a clever tease at the setting of the next GTA game. Vice City was a beloved location from the series' past, so it is entirely possible that Grand Theft Auto 6 will return to the tropical climate once again.
