Although Rockstar insists that Grand Theft Auto 6 is years away, a recently discovered mystery website has ignited rumors and speculations, bringing up new theories regarding when GTA 6 will be released. Spiraling quickly, speculations suggest that an announcement is coming soon for the next big Grand Theft Auto title, or at the very least, an update for GTA Online. Rockstar has neither confirmed nor denied these rumors as of yet, and fans are at the edge of their seats waiting for good news.

Not a lot is known about the incoming sequel to GTA 5, only that it is on its way. Rockstar has not given any clues as to what the GTA 6 story will center on or what location will serve as the backdrop for the series' signature chaos and mayhem. There have been rumors that GTA 6 will feature a multi-city setting, but like the latest speculations, Rockstar has yet to release any information. It’s possible that GTA 6 could feature a massive map with multiple American cities, and the story could have both a male and female protagonist, but like everything else surrounding GTA 6, it’s all speculation.

According to Game Rant, a new Rockstar website page has sparked new GTA 6 rumors, and the company has yet to do anything to quell the excitement. The webpage was spotted after a news page was posted for Naturalist rewards in Red Dead Redemption Online, and it’s numbered 62005, which isn’t quite as revelatory as players could hope. When viewers attempt to access the page, it provides nothing more than an error code (e398).

The webpage itself doesn’t present any new details about how far along GTA 6 really is, and some suggest that it’s actually a hint at future GTA Online content. However, YouTuber MrBossFTW added to the rumors and excitement by claiming that GTA 6 is in full development and has been in pre-production for over a year. If true, that could put the next Grand Theft Auto on the same track as The Elder Scrolls 6, but that is merely speculation. Bethesda announced that it started working on The Elder Scrolls 6 back in 2018 and that its release isn’t expected until 2025 at the earliest, according to reports.

As of now, fans are fairly satisfied with the current GTA Online experience, especially now that RP servers are taking center stage for many Twitch streamers. As to when GTA 6 will finally be released, fans will have to wait until Rockstar makes an official announcement. Still, the mystery webpage could end up becoming the biggest hint yet as to an upcoming release date.
