A recent report from Bloomberg points towards a female protagonist for Grand Theft Auto 6, with the game allegedly being based on the exploits of Bonnie and Clyde.

Schreier also claims that there will be two playable protagonists in GTA 6, a crime duo made up of a Latina woman and her male counterpart. These two GTA 6 characters will apparently be based on Bonnie and Clyde, making the game a love letter to the American crime icons.
Bonnie Elizabeth Parker and Clyde Chestnut Barrow were an American couple who traveled the Central United States and pulled off robberies during the Great Depression in the 1930s. Traveling with a gang of other outlaws, the couple terrorized the US for years before being killed in an ambush by lawmen. Bonnie and Clyde mainly robbed stores and funeral homes, but they are most well-known for their occasional bank robberies. The two have been depicted and romanticized in various films and television series, most notably the 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty as the lovely couple.
GTA 6 Can Serve As A Modern Adaptation Of Bonnie and Clyde
While the female protagonist of GTA 6 indicated by Bloomberg already sets it apart from past entries in the series, taking inspiration from Bonnie and Clyde can make for a truly unique experience. The concept suggests that there will be a romantic link between the game's two playable characters, which would make for a much different dynamic than the ones found in GTA 5.
