According to one Grand Theft Auto V player, the game’s map looks uncannily like Homer Simpson from The Simpsons. Despite being out now for almost eight years, Grand Theft Auto V is still providing hours of entertainment - as well as offering up some interesting surprises - to its players today.

GTA V has been a sensational success for its developer, Rockstar Games. The team added such an incredible amount of content and detail into Grand Theft Auto V that even today there are areas of Los Santos that many players are yet to discover. However, while the smaller details within Grand Theft Auto V have been carefully calculated and positioned by the game’s designers, there is one area that may have been created in an unintentional (and rather comical) way.

As pointed out by Redditor Mr_Hyy, when zoomed out in its entirety, the map for Grand Theft Auto V’s Los Santos looks remarkably like the face of Homer Simpson. Sharing a side-by-side comparison of the Simpson family patriarch and GTA V’s vast map, Mr_Hyy simply stated, “I can’t help it, my brain has always seen the GTA V map this way.” Using Mr_Hyy’s image as a reference, it appears that the area around GTA V's Fort Zancudo serves as one of Homer’s eyes, while the upper areas of the city of Los Santos would make up his recognizable facial stubble and mouth area.

It turns out Mr_Hyy is not alone with their amusing take on Grand Theft Auto V’s map, with several commentators agreeing wholeheartedly with this observation. However, it may not just be Homer Simpson who has been unexpectedly presenting himself to GTA V players; other Reddit users additionally shared their own thoughts about the map, with some even revealing that in their minds they see Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles thrusting his sword forward.

Many fans of the Grand Theft Auto series are now eagerly awaiting more news on the elusive GTA VI. Currently, there has been very little about the next game in the series officially shared by Rockstar, although there have been plenty of rumors and speculation amongst players. This ongoing silence from Rockstar has led to some fans taking matters into their own hands, with a sign begging the release of GTA VI even appearing at a recent AEW: Dynamite match. Meanwhile, one enthusiast gate-crashed the stage during a televised German games show, in a bid to find out more about when the next GTA game is actually coming. However, despite having an obviously passionate fan base, Rockstar has not succumbed to the pressure and has remained tight-lipped on its next Grand Theft Auto release.
