Just like most survival games, collecting resources in Grounded is extremely important. Players will need to defeat enemies or mine certain objects to acquire useful items and resources in the game. These can then be used to construct new gear or weapons for surviving the world around them. Players who don't spend time collecting new things and creating better gear won't make it very far in Grounded.

One of the most important resources in Grounded is Grub Hides. Players can use these items to create even more useful equipment like the Larva Blade or the Weevil Shield. These items will make surviving against more difficult enemies much easier, and allow the player to explore more of the world around them without dying. This guide will show players where they can find grubs in the game and how they can collect their hides.

Grounded: Where to find Grubs

A Multistory home base in Grounded

Since Grub Hide is an extremely important resource, it is not an easy one for players to acquire. Grubs will burrow themselves under the ground in the area surrounding the large oak tree, but players won't be able to make their way to this location until they progress further into the game's storyline. They also won't be able to acquire Grub Hide without the Acorn Shovel, which players can't build until they gain access to this area anyway.

As soon as players unlock the oak tree area they should begin searching around until they discover an acorn on the ground and smash it open with their hammer. Players can then take the acorn shell that they will acquire from this and combine it with 2 Sprigs and 1 Woven Fiber to create the Acorn Shovel. Players can then explore around the tree until they see a grub moving around in the dirt. The player can then use their new shovel to dig the grub out of the dirt, which will give them Grub Hide.

The largest issue with collecting Grub Hide though is that the immediate area surrounding the oak tree is typically crawling with angry spiders. Players will need to do their best to avoid these creatures or kill them before looking around for grubs. Players who aren't paying attention can quickly find themselves overwhelmed by these monstrous beasts and wind up dead before they even know what happened. Take care of spiders first and then collect Grub Hide.
