A neat Grogu fan theory explores what life for the fan-favorite Star Wars character will look like in 300 years. The last time audiences saw Grogu was at the end of The Book of Boba Fett. In that series, Luke Skywalker gives Grogu a choice: accept the gift of Mandalorian armor from Din Djarin or receive Yoda's lightsaber and train as a Jedi. Grogu, of course, takes the Mandalorian armor and chooses to fly off with Djarin.

This makes sense, as the unbreakable bond formed between Grogu and Djarin has become a centerpoint of the Star Wars franchise and one that audiences are looking forward to following more in The Mandalorian season 3. Given that Jedi training takes years to achieve, starting at a very young age, if Grogu had chosen the way of the Jedi over the way of the Mandalorian, the franchise would change completely. Grogu would likely never see his friend again, and his Jedi training would have taken over his life, at least while Djarin was alive.

However, one theory offers an alternative option. It stems from Sean Viloria's take on the future of Grogu. The artist created a figurine which has a Mandalorian helmet, multiple lightsabers, and various other Jedi relics on its body. The accompaniying video's opening crawl explains, "300 years after the fall of the Empire, Grogu continues his quest across the galaxy in search of ancient Jedi relics." The artist calls this version of Grogu "Grogu The Hunter," a fitting name for someone who is not only trained by a Mandalorian but also spends his time hunting down Jedi relics throughout the galaxy.

Din Djarin And Grogu In The Book Of Boba Fett Chapter 7

As Grogu makes the choice to go the way of the Mandalorian in The Book of Boba Fett, it seems likely that part of his journey will stick. Also, Luke Skywalker's first student, according to the sequel trilogy, is Kylo Ren. Unless The Book of Boba Fett retcons that canon, Grogu cannot go back to Luke Skywalker for more training. Star Wars isn't likely to take back anything established in the last ten years or so, so it is safe to assume that Grogu never returns to Luke Skywalker for training.

However, at the time of The Mandalorian/The Book of Boba Fett, Grogu is about 50 years old and still very much an infant/toddler. Since he ages much slower than the more humanoid races that train as Jedi, he has a much larger window during which he can learn their ways. Since Din Djarin is the wielder of the Darksaber, which makes him the leader of Mandalore, it makes sense that Grogu, when he comes of age, would be in that leadership role among the Mandalorian people. He could then start training with Jedi hundreds of years later as an adult after achieving a higher status as a Mandalorian. Though it's hard to know what Grogu's future holds, this is one exciting option that would make him an even more essential part of the Star Wars franchise.
