When a TV show airs for over ten seasons, it might be hard to keep track of all of the storylines and character arcs. That isn't the case on Grey's Anatomy. Viewers remember all of the major moments that have happened, as Meredith Grey and her coworkers have experienced so many highs and lows.

Meredith And Derek's Post-It Note Wedding
This popular Grey's Anatomy couple has ups and downs but no one can argue with the fact that they share some romantic times while Derek is on the series.
Meredith and Derek's season 5 Post-it Note wedding is definitely memorable and it's fair to say that it's one of the most popular scenes. Chances are that viewers have the note memorized: Derek said, "To love each other even when we hate each other…No running. Ever. Nobody walks out, no matter what happens." and Meredith talked about what would happen if she got Alzheimer's. Derek replied, "I will remind you who I am every day" and added, "To take care when old, senile, and smelly." It's heartbreaking to think that after Derek's passing, that won't happen.
Meredith Almost Drowning
Meredith has a super emotional story and in every season of the show, she has at least one terrible thing happen to her that fans can't stop thinking about.
Meredith almost drowned in the season 3 episode "Drowning On Dry Land." Alas, Derek rescued her, which made for another fan-favorite moment between these two characters. It's pure Grey's Anatomy as it's so sad but also kind of beautiful.
Derek's Tragic Death
Derek's death in the season 11 episode "How To Save a Life" is another scene that definitely lives rent free in each fan's head.
No one could ever forget watching Derek help victims of an accident while driving and then get pummelled by a truck. There were so many sad things about his death, from the fact that he was trying to help people to the incompetence of the doctors at the hospital where he ended up. Even in his very injured state, he could even tell that they weren't doing what they should have been.
Burke Stood Cristina Up On Their Wedding Day
In the season 3 episode "Didn't We Almost Have It All?" Burke stood Cristina up on their wedding day.
This is another scene that Grey's Anatomy fans can never forget, as this was the worst thing that could have happened. Cristina didn't open up to just anyone and the fact that she wanted to marry Burke should have meant more to him. She had trouble moving on from this tragedy and Meredith did her best to help pick up the pieces.
The Doctors Were In A Plane Crash And Lexie Died
Lexie could be sweet, but she also had her frustrating moments, and it took Meredith a little while to realize that she wanted to be close to her half-sister.
The season 8 finale episode "Flight" is one that fans can never forget, as the doctors were involved in a horrific plane crash. No one was sure who would make it out alive and many doctors had terrible injuries. Lexie passed away during this episode, and Meredith was absolutely devastated. She had already lost so many people in her life and this was a tough and cruel reminder that it could keep happening.
Meredith Wanted Derek To Pick Her
Fans have to admit that the Addison/Derek/Meredith love triangle didn't have an easy answer at first. As much as everyone wanted to believe that Derek would end his marriage for good and throw everything he had into his romance with Meredith, that didn't happen immediately.
In the second season, Meredith told Derek "pick me, choose me, love me" as she didn't want him to stay married to Addison. This was an incredibly emotional moment as he did, unfortunately, decide that he wanted to reunite with his wife.
The Doctors Realized That George Died
The season 6 premiere "Good Mourning" found the doctors coming to a sick realization: the patient they had been trying to save was their beloved George O'Malley.
This is a scene that fans can't stop thinking about, as George and Meredith bonded right away, and the other doctors, from Izzie to Alex to Bailey, loved him so much. It was impossible for them to picture the rest of their medical careers without him, and besides losing a popular coworker, they lost a good friend whom they cared deeply about. It was a sad day at the hospital, that's for sure.
Alex Punched DeLuca In A Jealous Rage
Alex may no longer be Grey's Anatomy, but he left a big impression during his time working with Meredith and the rest of the gang.
When Alex punched DeLuca as he assumed something was happening between him and Jo, it was a memorable moment that wouldn't soon disappear from fans' minds. This had some big ripple effects at the hospital, as Jo was upset, DeLuca was badly injured, and Alex was in a lot of trouble.
Meredith And Cristina Danced It Out Before Cristina Left
Fans love Meredith and Cristina's friendship and their dance parties are definitely famous in the Grey's Anatomy fandom.
When Cristina announced she was moving to Switzerland for an amazing job opportunity, Meredith was understandably upset, but of course, she knew that it was going to do wonders for Cristina's future. Fans loved the scene when these two best friends danced it out one last time before Cristina moved away for good. It's still emotional to think about this moment, as it was clear that their friendship would never be the same again. Text messages and phone calls just aren't the same thing as working together every day.
Derek's Season 17 Return
Fans are curious about the rest of season 17 as so many surprises have already taken place with this current batch of episodes.
In the season 17 premiere, Meredith saw Derek on a beach and told him that she missed him. He said that he knew, which was a pretty fitting Derek quote, as he couldn't help but be charming all the time. This scene will definitely always live in every Grey's Anatomy fan's mind, as this love story seems to be continuing even though Derek died, and there's truly nothing more romantic.
