HBO Max's Green Lantern season 1 is getting closer to starting production. The Green Lantern Corps is finally getting a new chance to come to life in live-action. With the DCEU film stuck in development, HBO Max is bringing the mythology to screen from Arrowverse creator Greg Berlanti. Green Lantern officially got picked up to series last year for a 10-episode season, with Seth Grahame-Smith set as the showrunner.

The series features multiple famous Green Lanterns as most of them haven't appeared in live-action. The cast includes Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, Guy Gardner, and Alan Scott as Earth's first Emerald Knight. Green Lantern will also star Sinestro and Kilowog, becoming their second live-action treatment. In past HBO Max marketing, the series has been eyed to start airing in 2021.

While no premiere date has been revealed, we know now when production starts. Production List reveals that Green Lantern is slated to start filming on Monday, April 12th, in Los Angeles. While it's unclear how long it'll film, given that it's an HBO Max-produced series, those 10 episodes will likely have a longer time to shoot.

Since it's less than two months away, Green Lantern casting news must be incoming. It's possible HBO Max will unveil the entire cast as a shared announcement. But either way, unless the start date changes, Green Lantern fans will hopefully have exciting news soon.
