There are many Green Lanterns in DC's comic universe, but one of the newest—and possibly best—has not joined main continuity. The cover for Jurassic League #4 reveals a closer look at the titular team's Green Lantern. This hero may be the one who makes it out of this dinosaur special for good.

DC often has stories that exist outside of main continuity, which frequently bring in fun new premises and new looks fitting the themes. These include titles like the recent Dark Knights of Steel and DCeased, as well as DC vs. Vampires. However, Jurassic League is introducing a fun prehistoric hero who could actually make it to DC's main continuity without very much of an issue. The newest Green Lantern should definitely join the Corps.

Jurassic League #4 has the creative team of Juan Gedeon and Daniel Warren Johnson. The cover for the first issue, which also featured the talents of Mike Spicer and Ferran Delgado, introduced Green Torch, the prehistoric Green Lantern in this universe. The cover for the fourth issue in the series focuses on Green Torch as he pile-drives Atrocitus—who has also been given a dinosaur form. This stunning cover shows the potential the hero has and there's no reason this Green Lantern couldn't take his heroism beyond this universe.

Green Torch is a Parasaurolophus with a fierce look. The Justice League's prehistoric variant team is slowly coming together within the series, but readers have yet to see Green Torch in action since he did not appear in the debut issue. Nonetheless, this peek at a fight with an alternate Atrocitus certainly adds anticipation for his official introduction. While he may have appeared on the first issue's cover, it is in the fourth that he truly shines. This team may exist somewhere within DC's omniverse, but it seems very possible that Green Torch could join up with the likes of Hal Jordan, Jessica Cruz, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, and Simon Baz, among numerous others. The Green Lantern Corps stretches across the universe, with Corps members stationed in a seemingly infinite amount of sectors. There should definitely be room for one more to join the crew.

The Green Lantern Corps is one of the largest and most diverse hero teams in DC Comics and with so many other universes, one more could easily find his way to the big leagues. With Infinite Frontier in full swing, the omniverse has never been more accessible to DC's best heroes. Crossing between these worlds isn't nearly as hard as it used to be and Green Torch is a perfect candidate for this kind of world shift. Being from a prehistoric world could give him a major opportunity to show a new perspective on Lantern constructions with the ring. Smaller herbivorous dinosaurs are often thought to be pushovers compared to larger carnivorous species, but this Parasaurolophus isn't letting anyone shove him around. He'd be a fun new addition for a crossover and there shouldn't be too many obstacles for joining the main continuity's Green Lantern Corps. If any one of the heroes in the Jurassic League make it to DC's main universe, it should definitely be its version of Green Lantern.
