An epic Green Lantern cosplay unites some of the Corps' most iconic members. Cosplayer Chris Carthern, who goes by @cosplaysbyshinobi on Instagram, shared the picture to his account, taken at Dragon Con. It depicts he and his friends as Corps members John Stewart, Jo Mullein and Kilowog, and their rings primed and ready for battle. Additionally, a mashup of Green Lantern and the Green Ranger joins them.
The Green Lantern Corps functions as an intergalactic peacekeeping force. Created by the immortal Guardians of the Universe, the Corps harnesses the green light of willpower and channels this energy through special rings. These rings give the wearer a fantastic suite of powers, such as flight and the ability to survive in deep space. They also allow the user to create green, hard-light constructs of virtually anything they can imagine. The Corps is composed of species from across the universe–at any given moment there are usually two Lanterns per space sector, but Earth has had many more, starting with Hal Jordan. Other humans in the Corps include John Stewart, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, Jo Mullein, Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz and each has served with honor and distinction. Now, four cosplayers have come together to pay homage to the greats of the Green Lantern Corps.
Cosplayer Chris Carthern unveiled the photo, captioning it “I’m biased, but we’re dope AF.” The photo was snapped at Dragon Con, a major fan convention held in Atlanta, Georgia every September. The photo shows Carthern, dressed as John Stewart, with three other cosplayers, each depicting another member of the Corps. Cosplayer @kai.esh_black shined as Jo Mullein and @codecosplay checked in with a stunning depiction of Kilowog, the Corps’ trainer. Finally, @thecoscreative, dressed as the Green Lantern Ranger, rounded out the shoot. The photo was received well by fans; the post garnered over 500 likes.

This cosplay shoot mixes the alien Kilowog with three human members, simultaneously honoring the diversity of species in the Corps as well as all of its human members.
