Warning: spoilers ahead for Green Lantern #7!

The youngest and newest Green Lantern Keli Quintela has figured out the best ring constructs to use against her foes. Also known as the Teen Lantern, John Stewart and Simon Baz brought Keli to Oa right as the entire Green Lantern Corps fell apart. After the devastating attack, the Guardians of Oa are unresponsive and only a handful of Lanterns remain with functional rings. While Far Sector's Jo Mullein has arrived to assume emergency leadership and find those responsible, she's also taken Keli under her wing as the two of them are among the few who can still wield the green light of willpower. However, Keli's youth and the unique nature of her power gauntlet have made her unpredictable.

In Green Lantern #7 from writer Geoffrey Thorne and artists Tom Raney and Marco Santucci, Keli is rescued from New Korugar, the homeworld of the Sinestro Corps. Believing that Sinestro and his Yellow Lanterns were responsible for the attack on Oa with minimal evidence, Keli went off on her own in a rage that didn't seem to be fully her own. Potentially under the influence of the mysterious power gauntlet she wields instead of a traditional ring, Keli attacked the Yellow Lanterns before former Green Lantern Jessica Cruz was able to put her in a coma, allowing Jo and Simon to get her to safety.

However, this new issue sees the Teen Lantern's gauntlet projecting constructs even while she's unconscious, acting as a dangerous defense system, though the constructs themselves are rather unique. Keli's go-to method is to create constructs of other heroes from Earth - most often her fellow Young Justice members, such as Robin and Jinny Hex. When Keli's constructs begin attacking the Lanterns' ship while she is still asleep, Jo and Simon are surprised to see a legion of Robins standing between them and Keli herself.

Simon and Jo end up battling constructs of Superboy, Wonder Girl, Red Tornado, and more (including a construct of Simon himself). While it's concerning that Keli's power gauntlet is so dangerous and may even be corrupting the young Green Lantern, her constructs are genius. By creating versions of other heroes to protect her, it's as though Teen Lantern is never alone and always has a team to watch her back. While this may be indicative of some fears she likely has about being on her own and away from Earth, it's a brilliant tactic all the same. Unlike the weapons or themed constructs often used by other Lanterns, Keli's "team" are people she's seen in combat, allowing her to draw on her memories of some of the most effective battle tactics on the planet. An army of ring-construct Robins is effectively an army of tireless fighters trained by Batman, but so familiar that Keli can manifest them from her subconscious.

As DC's Green Lantern continues, it's going to be interesting to see what's next for Keli Quintela. There's clearly something going on with the power gauntlet she found on Earth in a junkyard, so perhaps the mystery behind it will finally be uncovered? Creating a variety of DC heroes as her constructs is pretty impressive and entertaining, and it will no doubt be fun to see how else the youngest Green Lantern uses the awesome powers of her gauntlet as the series continues.
