Aside from Arrow’s Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), several characters have worn the iconic Green Arrow costume in the Arrowverse. Sometimes by Oliver’s choice and sometimes because of another person’s scheme, the Green Arrow mantle has been shared by quite a few people.

For eight seasons, Oliver fought crime as a hooded, bow-wielding vigilante. In Arrow season 1, he was known as the Hood, a ruthless archer who stalked the streets of Star City, targeting powerful and corrupt individuals. After beginning a redemptive arc, Oliver’s Hood alter ego evolved into the Arrow. In season 4, Oliver’s transformation into the hero from DC Comics was complete, and he was thus renamed “the Green Arrow”. The name stuck until the end of the series.

Over the years, a number of heroes and villains have borrowed the costumes, weapons, and titles that belonged to Oliver Queen. This includes his Hood, Arrow, and Green Arrow identities. Some were impersonators looking to help (or hurt) or Oliver, while others used the suit for completely different reasons.

Ra’s al Ghul

In Arrow season 3, Ra’as al Ghul (Matt Nable) was so impressed with Oliver Queen and the fact that he survived their duel that he arranged for Oliver to marry Nyssa (Katrina Law), and he picked him to be the new leader of the League of Assassins. However, Oliver wasn’t interested in being the Heir to the Demon. To force Oliver in submitting to him, Ra’s al Ghul wore the Arrow suit and killed a group of gangsters. His actions helped turn Starling City and the police against Oliver.

Maseo Yamashiro

Ra’s as Ghul posing as the Arrow was just one phase in his plan. The next step was for Oliver’s former friend and League member Maseo Yamashiro (Karl Yune) to don the suit. As the Arrow, Maseo continued the killing spree begun by Ra’s al Ghul and put Oliver on a collision course with the Atom (Brandon Routh).

Roy Harper

When Oliver was prepared to turn himself in, Team Arrow secretly came up with a plan to save both him and his secret identity. In a sacrificial move, Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) willingly wore the Arrow suit and allowed himself to be captured. For a long time, it was accepted that the Arrow was Roy Harper the entire time. This was the reason he had to leave Starling City.

Malcolm Merlyn

In Arrow season 4, Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) was initially an enemy in the fight against Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), but over time an alliance was formed. To make sure Darhk didn’t discover Oliver’s identity, Merlyn wore the Green Arrow costume in his mission to save Team Arrow from Darhk’s forces.

Robert Queen (Earth-2)

It was mentioned on The Flash that, on Earth-2, Oliver was killed when the Queen’s Gambit crashed, but his father survived. When Robert Queen (Jamey Sheridan) returned to civilization, it was he who suited up as the vigilante known as the Hood. This version of Green Arrow’s story reversed the events of the Arrow pilot.

Adrian Chase (Earth-2)

Adrian Chase looking shocked in Arrow

Oliver and Diggle were shocked when they came to Earth-2 and found Adrian Chase (Josh Seggara) as the new Hood and the leader of Team Arrow. For a reason they never learned, the Earth-2 counterpart of one of Oliver’s greatest enemies succeeded Robert Queen as the Hood. He along, with nearly everyone else on Earth-2, was killed by the anti-matter waves that enveloped their world.

Christopher Chance

Played by Wil Traval, the Arrowverse version of Christopher Chance aka Human Target used his signature talents as a master of disguise to protect Oliver on two separate occasions. Both times called for him to pose as the Green Arrow. In the first instance, he helped fake the Green Arrow’s death. The purpose of the second time was to cast suspicion off Oliver. By posing as Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell), he created a convincing story that made people think that the real Green Arrow was actually Tommy.

John Diggle

John Diggle (David Ramsey), who has worn Oliver’s suits to protect his identity in the past, worn it on a long-term basis in season 6. When Oliver decided to retire from being the Green Arrow, he picked Diggle to be his successor, not knowing that Diggle was secretly suffering from a medical condition that hindered his physical capabilities. As time passed, Diggle’s activities as the Green Arrow drove a wedge between him and Oliver. He became frustrated when Oliver ended up taking the mantle back from him, but they eventually moved past this, with Diggle accepting that it was Oliver’s place to be the protector of Star City.

Citizen Steel

In a Legends of Tomorrow season 4 episode, the Legends dressed up as other Arrowverse heroes at a superhero theme park. Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) wore Supergirl’s outfit, while Citizen Steel (Nick Zano) wore a costume identical to Green Arrow’s.

Barry Allen

Green Arrow and Flash in Elseworlds

The Elseworlds crossover event created a complex and unexpected situation for Oliver Queen and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) by having them switch places - literally. When a villain named John Deegan (John Davies) used a magical book to rewrite reality, the two characters found themselves living each other’s lives. Oliver was suddenly married to Iris West (Candice Patton) and the leader of Team Flash. Meanwhile, Barry had taken over Oliver’s life as the Green Arrow, complete with the costume and the bow. After a team-up with the heroes of the Arrowverse, Barry and Oliver came together and returned reality to its natural state.

Emiko Queen

Arrow Season 7 The New Green Arrow in Level 2

Arrow season 7 saw the people of Star City reckon with the arrival of a new Green Arrow, who emerged at a time when Oliver Queen was incarcerated. After numerous encounters with Oliver’s mysterious replacement, it was revealed that this person was actually his long-lost sister, Emiko (Sea Shimooka), who was using her new alter ago as a part of her plan to get revenge on the Queens.

Mia Smoak

Arrow Fadeout Mia Queen Green Arrow

After being whisked from the future to the present by the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett), Mia Smoak (Katherine McNamara) met her father for the first time. After getting to know his daughter, Oliver gave Mia her own version of the Green Arrow costume at the beginning of “Crisis on Infinite Earths”. Unlike Oliver’s, this new suit didn’t have a hood or a mask. It was replaced by a new take on the costume in the penultimate Arrow episode, which showed Mia operating as the Green Arrow in Star City’s future. Presumably, this suit will be what she’ll wear if and when her spinoff series, Green Arrow and the Canaries, is picked up by the CW.
