For the first time in a long while, Green Arrow and his allies have united in a stellar new cover. Writer Joshua Williamson teases fans with a cover for the upcoming Green Arrow series that shows off Oliver Queen with his extended family of heroes.Green Arrow might not be the DC Universe's most well-known billionaire crime-fighter, but with just a bow and arrow, he's been able to keep the forces of evil at bay for years and years. And like many other heroes, Oliver has never been alone. He's frequently been joined in his crusade by his greatest love, Black Canary, as well as his longtime associate Roy Harper. Oliver has also fought crime alongside his blood relatives, such as his son, fellow Green Arrow Connor Hawke, and his sister, Red Arrow Emiko Queen. However, unlike the Bat-Family or the Flash Family, Green Arrow and his partners have often been too scattered to fight as a unit.Related: Green Arrow Isn’t a Batman Ripoff, He’s DC’s Iron ManHowever, that seems to be changing with a new cover for the upcoming Green Arrow series. Writer Joshua Williamson posted a sneak peek at the title on Twitter. Drawn by Sean Izaakse and colored by Romulo Fajardo Jr, the cover for the new Green Arrow series unites nearly every character in the Green Arrow mythos on one gorgeous spread. Oliver is front and center, and is joined by his closest partners, Black Canary and Arsenal. Right behind him is Connor Hawke and nearby is Oliver's Arrowverse partner, John Diggle. Speedy Mia Dearden is there, along with Red Arrow and new addition Red Canary, not to mention Lian Harper and Arrowette overseeing the team. Green Arrow is also joined by several of his villains such as Brick, Count Vertigo, Onomatopoeia, Cheshire, and Malcolm Merlyn.

Green Arrow's New Series Will Be A Real Family Affair

Williamson also points out in his tweet that, like the cover of the new Superman title, there are clues to what fans can expect from the series. Fans may have already noted the peculiar inclusion of Peacemaker, who isn’t exactly a Green Arrow rogue, but could hint at a future confrontation between the two. There’s also the green mask glowing in the distance, likely suggesting a team-up with Oliver’s old friend Green Lantern Hal Jordan. While no one knows what’s planned exactly, it seems certain that Green Arrow’s extended cast is along for the ride.

Not only is a new series for Oliver Queen long overdue, a title that brings together the entire Green Arrow family together is something fans of the Emerald Archer have been waiting for. Whether it’s wanting to see more of Connor Hawke since his inclusion in the Robin series or Mia Dearden fans wishing she could have another chance to shine, the Green Arrow franchise has a lot of fan-favorite characters. A new book that unites the team for the first time in years is certainly something that will be warmly welcomed by readers. Fans eager to see the team in action just have to hold on a little longer until Green Arrow #1 releases in April 2023.
