Capcom has announced that The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles games are finally coming West in July. These are two games in The Great Ace Attorney series from the Nintendo 3DS era, which star the ancestor of Phoenix Wright.

The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures was released for the 3DS in 2015 and Android/iOS in 2017, while The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve was released for the 3DS in 2017 and Android/iOS in 2018. These never received official English localizations, but fan translations do exist online. The old Phoenix Wright games have been remastered for modern systems, and the recent major Capcom leak claimed that The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles was going to receive an official English localization in the future.

The English localization of The Great Ace Attorney games was seemingly confirmed a few months ago when a game called The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles received an age rating in Taiwan. Capcom has officially announced The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Steam, which is due to be released on July 27. The game's director Shu Takumi hosted a video on the official Capcom YouTube Channel, where he discussed the game and confirmed that it's finally receiving a worldwide release.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles has the two 3DS games in one package, which contains over fifty hours of content. The game also contains mini-episodes focusing on different characters, which were originally DLC in Japan. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles follows Ryunosuke Naruhodo, the ancestor of Phoenix Wright, as he solves crimes in Meiji-era Japan and London. He's joined by Herlock Sholmes, who was called Sherlock Holmes in Japan. It's possible that the recent lawsuit regarding Enola Holmes and the Arthur Conan Doyle estate prompted the name change. People who pre-order the game or purchase it shortly after launch will receive the "From the Vault" DLC, which contains extra content, like character illustrations. A bundle containing both The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is also on the way.

It's great to see developers in Japan bringing their old games to modern systems, like how Square Enix is remastering the SaGa games. Ace Attorney fans have been asking for The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles games to be released in Europe and North America for years now, and they'll finally be able to experience them on modern consoles. If Capcom ever gets around to localizing Ace Attorney Investigations 2, then the entire series will finally be available to everyone.
